GOP senator dumps on Tucker as a ‘useful idiot’ over Moscow grocery shopping video

Tucker Carlson struck a nerve with his trip to Moscow where he interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin, and one Republican Senator is very unhappy with another video, this one of him shopping for groceries in Moscow.

The intrepid globetrotting journalist continues to get under the skin of uni-party lawmakers and the video of his visit to the grocery store, where he compared quality and prices to those in America where shoppers are increasingly getting less for their money, rattled cages on Capitol Hill.

Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), a virtue-signaling, America-last, Trump-bashing RINO who seems to care more about Ukraine than his constituents, trashed Carlson whom he strongly suggested is a Kremlin dupe in a post to X.

“Ah yes, Russia is so much better than the U.S. with all those cheap groceries and lavish subway stations! The Soviets had a term for people like Tucker: useful idiots,” he wrote.

In the four-minute TC Shorts video that was posted to Carlson’s website, he took viewers on a trip through the modern-day “contemporary” Russian grocery store two years after the Biden regime and its global allies imposed what they mistakenly hoped would be crushing sanctions on Russia after Putin ordered the invasion of the neighboring country.

After trundling his cart through the aisles and loading it up with healthy food, Carlson found that the groceries rang up at a mere fraction of the cost that they do in the U.S.

“If you take people’s standard of living and you tank it through filth and crime and inflation, and they literally can’t buy the groceries they want at that point, maybe it matters less what you say, or whether you’re a good person or a bad person,” Tucker said at the end of the video. “You’re wrecking people’s lives in their country. And that’s what our leaders have done to us. And coming to a Russian grocery store, the heart of evil, and seeing what things cost and how people live. It will radicalize you against our leaders. That’s how I feel, anyway. Radicalized. We’re not making any of this up by the way.”

But rather than being a “useful idiot” for Putin, what could be the problem is that Carlson’s Russian market video is a damning testament to the failures of Tillis and the rest of the America-last Congress that sends tens of billions to Kyiv at a time that people in their supposed primary area of responsibility are being eaten alive by inflation.

Carlson’s video of the sparkling clean Moscow subway is also a stark contrast to those in America and especially New York City where passengers not only have to ride in filthy cars packed with junkies and the mentally ill but are also preyed upon by violent thugs and criminal misfits.

Tillis’s trashing of Carlson was met with a strong reaction from X users, some of whom seem to think that if the Tarheel State senator is looking for a “useful idiot,” he only needs to glance at the mirror.

“If we walk away, you will see the alliance that is supporting Ukraine crumble. You will ultimately see China become emboldened. And I am not going to be on that page of history. I believe that we have to vote today. And we have to respect some of the priorities, maybe the concerns of the House, as they move this through. But let’s let this chamber be the chamber that stands with the free world. That’s what we can do today. That’s what we must do today,” Tillis said in a statement justifying he and his fellow RINOs selling out Americans on the foreign aid bill that shows where their true priorities are.
