‘LAWYER UP’ – Top House Dem puts Trump admin. on notice after GOP midterm catastrophe

The Democrats retook control of both the House and Senate, swamping Republicans in a midterm blue tsunami of epic proportions on Tuesday, the Trump administration’s worst nightmare.

The party capped off a stunning political comeback just two years after it appeared to be headed to the dumpster of history after 2024’s sweeping Republican wins that returned President Donald J. Trump to office, and they are itching to get about the business of investigating and impeaching members of his administration.

As the losses mounted for the GOP and the electoral map turned bluer as the night went on, top congressional Democrats took to social media to warn Trump and his administration that revenge is at the top of their agenda.

“LAWYER UP,” wrote Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) in a late Tuesday night X post.

Garcia is currently the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee and will be handed the gavel once Congress officially shifts control in January.

Senate Finance Committee ranking member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) forecast a blizzard of “subpoenas” in his own post to X.

Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Ill.) posted a short list of names of current and former Trump officials who will be hauled before Congress.

“Noem, Markwayne, Miller, Homan, Bovino, what’s up? Clear your schedule,” she wrote.

Future House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) rubbed it in by quoting a Founding Father.

Democrats won’t just be going after Trump administration officials. Trump’s allies in Big Tech are also on the target list.

“They are going to need to plant new forests for all of the subpoenas we’ll be printing,” Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) declared.

Garcia has already been cooking up the investigations in anticipation of the Dems winning back the House, recently telling Punchbowl News that “We’re not starting from scratch here.”

Among the items on the newly emboldened Democrat House majority’s agenda will be probes of the president and his family’s business dealings, the enforcement of federal immigration policy, alleged corruption, the Iran war, the new White House ballroom and the Epstein files.

Officials likely to be grilled in public – and televised – hearings will include War Secretary Pete Hegseth, DHS boss Markwayne Mullin, his predecessor Kristi Noem, and others who, in the words of Garcia, should move quickly to “lawyer up.”

Another top target of Democrats will be Tesla/SpaceX CEO and former DOGE chief Elon Musk, who plowed hundreds of millions into saving Republicans but saw his money go up in flames on Tuesday night.

So much for all of the pledges to focus on affordability, health insurance, and kitchen table issues that impact the daily lives of voters; these Democrats are laser-focused on revenge.
