Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) was very displeased that a Republican colleague would be less than deferential to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his notoriously corrupt regime.
With the Eastern European leader paying a visit to Washington, D.C. to demand the latest disbursement of his money in the ongoing shakedown of American taxpayers, Tillis was furious about remarks made by Senator JD Vance (R-OH) during a Monday interview with America first podcaster Steve Bannon.
“There are people who would cut social security – throwing our grandparents into poverty – so that one of Zelensky’s ministers can buy a bigger yacht? Kiss my ass, it’s not happening,” Vance told the host, digging in to oppose the $60 billion Christmas gift that the shabby Ukrainian has showed up in the nation’s capital to collect.

“We’re gonna be asked to rebuild their entire country, that’s after funding another hundred, two hundred billion dollars…,” Vance told Bannon. “There’s three hundred billion dollars on top of that to rebuild the country.”
“Then we gotta pay for their pensioners, we’re getting easily a half a trillion in the whole for the Ukraine conflict by the time this is done and Steve, at the very same time you have people in this town saying we need to cut social security,” he added.
“I think it’s bulls**t,” Tillis told reporters when asked about his fellow senator’s comments, The Hill reported.
“If you’re talking about giving money to Ukrainian ministers — total and unmitigated bulls**t,” Tillis added. “Not productive conversation … not real happy about it.”
Tempers are running hot with the tens of billions to prop up Zelensky’s regime currently stalled in Congress where Democrats are refusing to budge on the funding for the border that GOP lawmakers are requesting as a part of the Ukraine aid package that President Joe Biden has demanded.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) resorted to more of the divisive and shameful demagoguery that have marked his tenure, accusing Republicans of being Putin appeasers, a tiresome smear that Democrats have routinely used to bully their political foes.

“Let me say that again: If Republicans keep insisting on Donald Trump’s border policies, then they will be at fault when a deal for Ukraine, Israel, and humanitarian aid to Gaza all fall apart. Republicans would be giving Vladimir Putin the best gift he could ask for,” Schumer said, demanding that GOP lawmakers fall in line to give Zelensky his money.
When asked by reporters about Tillis’s comments later on Monday, Vance stated that he believes that Ukraine is “one of the most corrupt countries in Europe.”
“We know that a number of people have gotten rich in Ukraine, and … I think it’s naivety if you don’t think they’ve gotten rich with some of our money,” Vance said, according to The Hill.
