With the 2024 GOP field beginning to take shape as the party begins the process of settling on the candidate who is best suited to topple Joe Biden, aspiring nominees are going to have to answer the question of what sets them apart from former President Donald J. Trump, the early front-runner for the nomination.
One of those who will need to make his case to conservative voters is biotech entrepreneur and author Vivek Ramaswamy who has been dubbed the “CEO of Anti-Woke Inc.” for his willingness to take the fight to the rabid left-wing cultural revolutionaries who now control the Democratic Party.

Ramaswamy got an early opportunity to lay out his vision to Fox News viewers and to draw a distinction between himself and the ex-POTUS on Thursday’s edition of “Hannity” before a live audience.
After welcoming his guest, host Sean Hannity pressed the longshot candidate to explain what he brings to the table, especially when it comes to being different than Trump given his lack of national name recognition and the necessity that he will need to do something to stand out from other candidates who have star power.
“You’re looking for the Republican nomination,” Hannity asked. “Probably the leader right now would be Donald Trump if you look a the polls. What are the policy differences you have between yourself and Donald Trump?”
“First of all, Donald Trump’s a friend,” Ramaswamy replied. “I am not running against him, I am running on a vision for our nation.”
“Wait, a minute, but you’re not running for him. You’re running against him, let’s be honest,” Hannity interjected to laughter from the audience.
“He was the O.G. of America first,” Ramaswamy responded, using the hip-hop culture slang term for original gangster.
“I am taking about taking that to the next level with America First 2.0, ok, let’s actually get the job done which means dismantling federal bureaucracy,” he said, noting that he is proposing “eight-year sunset clauses for anybody in the federal bureaucracy,” a bloated class of careerist government workers that has drawn increasing criticism from Trump and other conservatives.
“If I can’t derive a paycheck from the federal government as the next U.S. president for more than eight years, I don’t think other federal bureaucrats should either,” he added, dodging giving a direct answer to Hannity’s original question, noting that he had earlier in the day put out a proposal to shut down the Department of Education which under Biden has staunchly defended the “grooming’ of young children in the nation’s classrooms.
“So I think it’s about taking it to the next level,” Ramaswamy said.
The anti-woke warrior laid out his case in a video announcing his campaign earlier this week.
We’ve celebrated our “diversity” so much that we forgot all the ways we’re really the same as Americans, bound by ideals that united a divided, headstrong group of people 250 years ago. I believe deep in my bones those ideals still exist. I’m running for President to revive them. pic.twitter.com/bz5Qtt4tmm

“We’re in the middle of a national identity crisis,” Ramaswamy began in the video which featured inspiring images stirring memories of saner times. “Faith, patriotism and hard work have disappeared, only to be replaced by new secular religions like Covid-ism, climate-ism and gender ideology.”
“We hunger to be part of something bigger than ourselves yet we cannot even answer the question of what it means to be an American,” he said. “Today the woke left preys on that vacuum. They tell you that your race, your gender and your sexual orientation govern who you are, what you can achieve and what you’re allowed to think.”
‘This is psychological slavery – and that has created a new culture of fear in our country, that has completely replaced our culture of free speech in America,” Ramaswamy added as he made it official that he was entering into the political arena. “This isn’t just a political campaign, this is a cultural movement to create a new American Dream for the next generation.”
