Hiker’s loyal dog found next to his body 2 MONTHS after they went missing in Colorado

It’s often said that we seriously flawed human beings don’t deserve dogs, who are gifts from God designed to bring immeasurable pleasure.

A recent example of this can be found in Colorado, where a 71-year-old hiker went missing in August. Rich Moore, of Pagosa Springs, went hiking up Blackhead Peak with his Jack Russell terrier, Finney, on August 19 and never returned, Fox News reported.

“Crews were inserted via helicopter just below the mountain peak and moved west in their search for Moore toward the trailhead, where his car was found parked, the search and rescue said. The team, however, was unable to find Moore,” the network reported.

Moore was found on Oct. 30 by a hunter about 2.5 miles east of the peak, according to the Denver Gazette. Right next to his body was Finney, very much still alive.

Taos Seach and Rescue member Delinda Vanne-Brightyn was part of the initial search for Moore and she commented on him being found on the TSR Facebook page.

“We searched from just under the peak-top and directly West, searching down the mountain toward where his car was located. Winds were directly from the West/Southwest. It was so steep, we were inserted in by a helicopter. He was found 2.5 miles East of the mountain-top beneath where we were inserted,” she said of her and her rescue dog

Social media users were in awe of the dog’s loyalty to its owner.

“Amazing that the dog stayed with him. They are truly man’s best friend,” one person wrote.

Another said, “Oh my goodness…his sweet dog stayed with him for over 2 months? Sending prayers for his family. Thank you for your work in locating him and giving this family some closure.”

“So sad, and yet so beautiful that the little Jack Russell stayed with him for all these weeks…Sometimes tragedies remind us of the bond between man and his best friend,” yet another social media user wrote.
