Failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is the perfect encapsulation of the conundrum the left faces over the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade and sending the issue back to the states — the ultimate in democracy.
While the pro-abortion side flips the script and accuses today’s Supreme Court of being activists motivated by “religious beliefs,” in reality Roe was a representation of the judicial activism on display nearly 50 years ago and has little basis in law.
And this is where Democrats run into a problem, having no real legal argument against the ruling aside from the well-worn talking point that Roe was a “well established legal standard.” Never mind that the original decision stood for less than 50 years of the country’s 245 years in existence.
All of which explains an effort from Hillary that was quickly dubbed the “dumbest tweet” by an astute social media user: “It shouldn’t be harder to obtain an abortion than an AR-15.”
It shouldn’t be harder to obtain an abortion than an AR-15.

The irony here is that for some, obtaining an AR-15 just got a little more difficult. On Saturday, President Joe Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act into law after the gun control bill was passed by the Democrat-controlled Congress with the help of a handful of squishy Republicans.
As for irony, Clinton initially responded to the overturn of Roe with language that put the decision on par with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the beginning of World War II.
“Most Americans believe the decision to have a child is one of the most sacred decisions there is, and that such decisions should remain between patients and their doctors. Today’s Supreme Court opinion will live in infamy as a step backward for women’s rights and human rights,” she tweeted.
Notice the Yale Law School graduate offered no telling legal argument.
Of all the responses to Clinton’s dumb tweet, U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., may have offered the best when she tweeted: “Tell me you’ve never purchased an AR-15 without telling me.”

But radio host Mike Mason was a close second: “Just when you think you’ve seen the dumbest tweet, Hillary logs on to Twitter…”

Here’s a quick sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter:
Hillary Clinton wants to make it easier to kill a defenseless unborn human being than to purchase a gun? https://t.co/fMKlJTIaPj

Every time you tweet something from the cavernous depths of that empty, dank, rotting catacomb you call a head, I whisper a little prayer thanking God you never became President. https://t.co/cgBG4ERpiz

I’ll admit, this is probably the best comment that could possibly be said to her.

You want it to be easier to commit murder than to buy a gun?

Do you need a 3 day FBI waiting period to get an abortion? Didn’t think so.
