Another wild video from the inside of a plane has split social media on which passenger is in the right.
The short clip is making the rounds on X and other platforms, sparking debate on whether an irate woman does or does not have the “right” to put her seat back on a flight.
“The whole trip, she’s pushing my seat,” the woman is heard telling a man seated behind her.
“I’m allowed to put my seat back,” she insisted after the other passenger responded.
“She’s allowed to put her seat back. You don’t get to kick it repeatedly just because you want more space,” tweeted conservative commentator Ian Miles Cheong in a post sharing the video Wednesday.
And the debate began, as columnist Matt Walsh countered, “Putting your seat back in coach is sociopath behavior.”
“You’ve made it so the person behind you can’t use their tray table and can’t move their legs. Yes you’re ‘allowed’ to do it, but you’re an asshole if you do,” he added.

And he followed up on the “compelling logic” of the passenger.
“The seats are able to recline so why shouldn’t I recline?”
This is compelling logic if you have the moral sense of a lizard. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. You can also slam the door in someone’s face rather than holding it for them. That doesn’t…

Those for and against the freedom to recline a seat in flight took to X to battle it out. The Federalist’s Sean Davis simply observed that “Everyone who disagrees with this is short.”

Some agreed with the “science” of reclining on a cramped plane.
Exactly.

Reclining your airline seat is a zero-sum game – you can increase your comfort, but not without decreasing the comfort of someone else. Make a choice, accept the consequences.
— Moderate aas (@ModerateHaHas) November 2, 2023
Putting your seat back in coach is an unspoken thing most people don’t do. It’s really the airlines fault because they’ve made coach so cramped and tight that putting the seat back shouldn’t even be an option.

Im pretty tall and have never put my seat back on a plane. It’s a pretty straightforward test of the golden rule. I hate when people in front of me do it, so i don’t do it.

Many others defended the right to recline a seat and called out the offended passenger.
Exactly, if you wanna be this entitled to take offense to someone reclining their seat, book business or first class. Put your money where your entitlement lies.

Well if someone is allowed to kick your seat you should be allowed to put it back. I’m sure it’s only made to go but so far back anyway.

You’re wrong Matt, it really isn’t a big deal and it doesn’t cause any issues with the tray.
— Stefon Rogers (@stefonrogers) November 2, 2023
She right.
No normal human being of average size can sit in an airline seat straight up for any duration flight.
Next, I’m paying for the seat. Shits going back. Don’t blame me cause the airlines put us in there like sardines. Time for 2 story planes
