JD Vance gets the last laugh on protesters

Vice President JD Vance got the last laugh in responding to a post suggesting that some not-so-bright University of Minnesota students were making a racket outside a hotel they believed the vice president was staying at — in the bitter cold of a Minnesota winter.

Turns out, according to the post, Vance was actually back in DC, which the veep appeared to confirm when he responded with a hilarious laugh emoji.

“Libs in Minneapolis are currently standing outside a hotel in -15 degree weather banging pots and playing instruments to keep JD Vance from sleeping inside his hotel. Little do they know, JD Vance landed back in D.C. 5 hours ago,” posted the popular X account, johnny maga.

Vance visited Minneapolis on Thursday in support of a surge of federal officials in the Twin Cities to enforce immigration laws amid the chaos. He participated in a roundtable and met with ICE agents and business leaders, according to Fox 9.

“Local authorities have been told do not cooperate,” Vance said of the “chaotic” conditions federal agents are facing. “This is disgraceful. The number one thing I learned today is that the best way to facilitate the law would be for state and local officials to cooperate with us.”

The vice president praised ICE agents, saying they “are doing an incredible job, and frankly, a lot of the media are lying about the job they do every day.”

“Come out and protest, but do it peacefully,” Vance said to the rabble. “If you assault law enforcement officers, the Trump administration is going to prosecute you under the fullest extent of the law.”

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
