Hempstead, the most populous town in New York, has chosen to take a bold stand against “woke” Democrat insanity.
Last week, the state’s patently insane, Democrat-led legislature passed an absurd bill that would replace correct terms such as “mother” and “father” with Orwellian garbage like “gestating parent” and “non-gestating parent.”
“The bill aims to make custody law more inclusive for LGBTQ+ parents and families who use assisted reproduction or surrogacy,” according to local station WRGB.
But as noted by Rep. Wesley Hunt, “This isn’t inclusion, it’s insanity.”
🚨 New York Democrats just voted to erase “Mother” and “Father”.
Governor Kathy Hochul will be replacing “mother” with “gestating parent” and “father” with “non-gestating parent.”

This brings us to Hempstead, which this week filed an emergency resolution, the “Resolution to Protect Mothers and Fathers,” to push back against what Hempstead Township Supervisor John Ferretti said is “woke nonsense.”
“As a father of two, it was an insult to me and to my wife,” he told Fox News. “As soon as I learned [about it], the first thing I did was bring my wife into our bedroom and say, ‘Look what they did up in Albany. They’re eliminating the terms mother and father from state law.'”
When his 9-year-old daughter reportedly overheard him, it upset her.
“Can I still call you dad?” she reportedly asked.
Ferretti wasn’t happy about that.
“It really hit close to home,” he said. “We need to take a stand in the Town of Hempstead, the largest township in America, and make sure that we make it clear not just to residents in the Town of Hempstead, but to residents throughout New York State, that we won’t stand for this kind of woke nonsense.”
The only good news is that New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has yet to sign the bill.
“I have until the end of the year to review them and make a decision, so I won’t be commenting on pending legislation,” she previously said.
Ferretti is hopeful she’ll reject the bill but suspects she won’t act until after the 2026 gubernatorial race “because she’s not brave enough to take a stand.”
Speaking of which, one of her opponents has been campaigning against her by citing this very piece of legislation:
Kathy Hochul’s administration talks about “gestating” and “non-gestating” parents.
New Yorkers are talking about higher taxes, higher utility bills, and how to make ends meet.
As Governor, I’ll focus on lowering costs and putting families first.

“We’re taking a stand because we will not allow woke Democrat liberals in New York State and the New York State Legislature to erase the traditional family,” Ferretti’s remarks continued. “They did not pass a law that adds language. They passed a law that erases mother and father from certain statutes under New York state law, and that’s completely unacceptable.”
“If Albany wanted to add additional language to their state laws, they could have added additional language, and we would not be discussing this right now. Instead, they chose to erase mother and father and replace it, and we won’t stand for that,” he added.
Conservative groups like the Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee have also taken note of what’s happening in New York.
“It’s just absurd, but also inherently dehumanizing,” group member Maggie McKneely told Fox News. “It reduces women to just their reproductive organs, but women are so much more than that. They are individuals with unique abilities and capabilities, and yes, motherhood is one of the greatest things that a woman can be. Being a mother is an incredible gift.”
“Women do so much more than that, and to reduce them to just whether or not they are capable of gestating a child is really sad and dehumanizing. To reduce men to being just non-gestating people is just really sad,” she added.
The party that can’t define a woman is now rewriting New York law to erase mothers and fathers.
Only in Albany could “mom” and “dad” become too controversial. 🤡🌎 pic.twitter.com/Hwksj43eE4
