Vice President Kamala Harris was thoroughly trounced by former President Donald Trump on Tuesday in large part because the American people could see that she was an empty vessel incapable of leading the most powerful nation in the history of the world.
Yet, those who backed Harris are convinced that the woman who became vice president because of her gender and the color of her skin has vast potential, and if being president of the United States is not in the cards, perhaps a seat on the Supreme Court will do.
An anti-Trump account on X under the name Protect Kamala Harris floated a proposal that would result in the failed Democratic nominee sitting on the nation’s highest court.
“Want to blow Republicans’ minds? Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor retires. President Biden appoints Kamala Harris to Sotomayor’s vacancy with a lame duck Democratic senate majority. Supreme Court Justice Kamala Harris,” the account posted.

Of course, the farfetched idea would require buy-in from President Biden, the man Harris stepped on to assume the mantle as the Democratic nominee, and rumor has it that the 81-year-old president isn’t too keen on Harris after being forced out — especially after his anointed replacement failed so spectacularly.
As for Sotomayor, at the age of 70, she is the oldest Democrat-appointed justice on the Court. The first Latina to serve on the Supreme Court, Sotomayor was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009. She has Type 1 diabetes, but other than that her health does not appear to be an issue.
The notion of throwing Sotomayor under the bus was voiced by others on election night as it became clear that Komrade Kamala was on her way to the dustbin of history. It seems the sting over Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died while Trump was in office, is still being felt on the left.
“Sotomayor should retire tomorrow and let the lame duck Senate confirm her replacement,” posted Miranda Yaver, an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

But Kamala Harris as the replacement? The woman who is stumped into frightful silence when her teleprompter has a glitch?
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
LOL. Biden will never appoint the person who supported the coup against him.

I don’t see Biden doing anything for her. She turned on him. Now she is blaming him for her loss. He is thinking “ Kamala, GFY”

She does not have the intellectual capacity to be a Supreme Court justice.

Reading a Harris opinion would become the new drinking game.

SCOTUS isn’t a weapon for you to use trying to stick it to people you disagree with. Try to rise above petty politics and put your country first.

Liberal justices all vote the exact same way for the same ideological reasons. Doesn’t matter if it’s Sotomayor, Whoopi Goldberg, Kamala or Bernie Sanders. They’d rule the same way on every single thing. So, Kamala, Sotomayor, Jimmy Fallon, it’s all the same.
