Leftist journos squeal over Trump’s ‘piggy’ jab, White House scolding of female reporter

Left-wing journalists are squealing about President Donald J. Trump’s treatment of two female reporters, one of whom he referred to as “piggy” on board Air Force One last week.

The president was speaking to the press when Bloomberg’s Catherine Lucey kept pestering him about the Jeffrey Epstein files after she had already asked a question, rudely continuing instead of letting other reporters have their turn.

“Quiet, quiet, piggy,” the perturbed Trump told the badgering journo.

Trump also engaged in another exchange with a female reporter who tried to embarrass Saudi Arabian leader Mohammed bin Salman at the White House on Tuesday.

The crown prince received the royal treatment from the administration, upping the kingdom’s commitment to invest in America to $1 trillion, a major win for the nation, but Mary Bruce of ABC News chose to confront bin Salman over the 2018 death of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi who was murdered at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, allegedly under his orders.

“Is it appropriate, Mr. President, for your family to be doing business in Saudi Arabia while you’re president? Is that a conflict of interest?” Bruce asked. “And Your Royal Highness, the U.S. intelligence concluded that you orchestrated the brutal murder of a journalist; 9/11 families are furious that you are here in the Oval Office. Why should Americans trust you?”

Trump reacted by eviscerating Bruce, dismissing her conflict of interest question as “fake news” and scolding her for her disrespect to bin Salman.

“As far as this gentleman is concerned, he’s done a phenomenal job,” he said. “You mentioning somebody that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn’t like that gentleman that you’re talking about. Whether you like him or didn’t like him, things happen, but he knew nothing about it. And we can leave it at that.

“You don’t have to embarrass our guest by asking a question like that,” Trump told Bruce, adding that it was “a horrible, insubordinate, and just a terrible question.”

Rather than engaging in self-reflection on how grandstanding hacks have brought dishonor upon the journalistic profession, reporters rallied around their colleagues.

But it was the “piggy” jab that really had them worked up.

When asked by CNN’s Jake Tapper about Trump’s “piggy” comment, Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL) defended the president.

“You know, President Trump is a very picturesque, difficult, and different type of politician,” Salazar told the whiny anchor. “But I always say that I look at his policies and not at his personality. No one is perfect. Those who are perfect are in heaven.”
