Lindsey Graham apologizes for saying Trump ‘scared the sh*t out of Mexico’ on air

While it appears to be lost on Democrats and the complicit media, there is one constant amid the historic invasion of 5 million-plus illegal immigrants along our southern border — Mexico serves as a conduit for the flow of humanity that often equates to crimes against humanity given the toll the trek takes on those who are enticed to make the journey.

Of course, this fact was a central point in former President Donald Trump’s effective response to the border crisis and the world saw Mexico shut the migrant spigot off in large part when Trump threatened tariffs on their goods.

Or, as Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., let slip on Monday, Trump “scared the sh*t out of Mexico” — the remark coming during a live shot on Fox News.

Graham appeared on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” to pay the prerequisite lip service to the historic crisis taking place along our border, using what amounts to an affront to every U.S. citizen and foreign national who followed U.S. immigration law to come to America the right way to score political points against President Joe Biden.

“Well, I think he has been derelict in his duties,” Graham said when host Jesse Watters questioned whether Biden is enforcing U.S. laws. “I’ve been saying that on your show and other places for about a year now, that what would fix this problem is pretty simple. You cannot apply for asylum in the United States. You have to apply in your home country or some country, safe country, other than the United States.”

“That’s what Trump did. Trump didn’t have a magic wand. He scared the sh*t out of Mexico,” he continued. “He told the Mexican government that, ‘If you don’t help me, I’m going to put tariffs on every product coming across the border.’ Guess what. The Mexican government, all of a sudden said, ‘Hey, I’d like to help.’ Under Trump, you couldn’t apply for asylum in the United States. You had to remain in Mexico.”

While Watters got a good laugh out of the slip of the tongue, he told his guest afterward, “We’re gonna have to send you a bar of soap.”

“I’m sorry,” Graham said with a laugh. “I forgot about that.”

“Thank you very much, senator,” Watters replied, closing out the segment. “Now go behave yourself.”
