The sudden death of Lisa Marie Presley rocked a world that was busy celebrating her iconic father, Elvis, with an award-winning eponymous film that is currently introducing his music to a new generation of fans.
On Friday, Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s daughter, took to Instagram to share a touching throwback photo of her gazing lovingly into her mother’s eyes, prompting a host of celebrities to shower Elvis’ granddaughter with messages of love and support.

“I love you,” wrote Nicole Richie.
“Beautiful Riley,” replied actress Selma Blair. “And her beautiful angel mama.”
Kim Kardashian, Nicola Peltz-Beckham, and Ashley Benson also sent Keough their love.
Longtime Elvis fans remember little Lisa Marie gazing in much the same way at her daddy, so when Elvis died at the far-t00-young age of 42, it was as though the entire world adopted, at least in their hearts, his only daughter. It is the reason why, for so many, the news of Lisa Marie’s sudden death on Jan. 12 from cardiac arrest at the age of just 54 dealt such a devastating blow.

Her death has to be especially crushing for Keough, whose brother, Lisa Marie’s son, Benjamin Keough, took his own life in 2020.
Recently, Riley and Lisa Marie were often seen together, praising the work of actor Austin Butler, who floored them both with his spot-on portrayal of Elvis in a film from visionary director Baz Luhrmann of “Moulin Rouge” fame.

At this year’s Golden Globe Awards, during which Austin Butler took home the Best Actor statue, Lisa Marie sparked concern after appearing to be unsteady on the red carpet.

The awards show was held on January 10. On January 12, Lisa Marie was dead.
Days before, she was celebrating what would have been her father’s 88th birthday at Graceland, BizPac Review reported.
“It’s been a while; I missed you,” she told the adoring crowd who gathered for the event.
“I keep saying you’re the only people that can bring me out of my house,” she told the loving fans. “I’m not kidding.”

Following Lisa Marie’s death, Priscilla issued another, heartwrenching statement.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” she wrote, according to Vogue. “She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
Priscilla, who was only 21 years old when she married the King of Rock in 1967, shared the cover of Vogue with Lisa Marie and Riley in 2004.
