Media mocked for gaslighting over ‘horrific video’ Trump shared ‘so dark’ they claim they can’t show it

April fools were out in force with all seriousness after a “horrific video” posted by the former president set snowflakes melting and cooler heads questioning, “That’s what was so disturbing and dehumanizing you wouldn’t show it on television?”

Late last week, as former President Donald Trump traveled to Long Island, New York to honor fallen NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller while incumbent President Joe Biden was fundraising with former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, he shared a video of real-world sentiment for the POTUS.

While Trump had posted it without comment, the Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferers across corporate media were moths drawn to the sensationalist flame as they stoked their audiences with further, ahem, proof of the GOP leader’s extremism.

“We begin with new questions about Donald Trump’s extreme rhetoric,” presented CNN anchor Jim Acosta Monday on “CNN Newsroom.” “Perhaps the biggest question of them all: Will Trump face any accountability? And will Republican leaders call him out after the former president shared a video on social media that could pose a security risk for President Biden?”

“Here’s that horrific video posted by Trump showing the president hog-tied in the back of a pickup truck,” he said before ignoring the dueling Big Apple visits in favor of an Easter juxtaposition. “Over the weekend, Biden and Trump offered distinctly different Easter messages. The president calling for peace, security, and dignity for people around the world.”

“As for Trump, he wished a Happy Easter to those he, ‘totally despises’ in the ‘failing nation’ that he hopes to lead. He reshared articles suggesting he is a modern day Jesus who is being crucified and he accused the president of a ‘years-long assault on the Christian faith,'” continued the anchor referencing other posts from Trump on Truth Social.

“The president, of course,” said Acosta of Biden who was slammed by Christians for peddling the message of “Transgender Day of Visibility” on Easter, “is a devout Catholic.”

Not to be outdone, MSNBC talking heads like Ali Velshi, Katie Phang and others wouldn’t even show the image they were referencing in their effort to thoroughly demonize Trump.

No fan of the former president or the party, Jon Stewart put reason ahead of politics Monday as he ripped into the absurd framing of the video on “The Daily Show.”

“This weekend, there was one story that was so disturbing, so dark, even the news couldn’t handle it,” he said as he primed the audience for a montage of media figures overselling the Biden decal. “This has gotta be devastating. News channels show images from Ukraine, from Gaza, from natural disasters. They get through them dispassionately. I can’t imagine how devastating this footage must be.”

“That’s what was so disturbing and dehumanizing you wouldn’t show it on television? An airbrushed Biden decal on the back of a truck?” wondered Stewart. “Aren’t you the same networks that show re-runs of 9/11 every year? I mean, I don’t think it’s great that Trump was posting things like this, but it’s not like people really think Joe Biden was tied up in the back of the truck.”

The remark prompted a clip of Velshi expressing, “If you’re driving behind it, it would appear as if Joe Biden were actually restrained on the vehicle’s flatbed.”

A dumbstruck Stewart opined, “If you think that’s really Joe Biden tied up on the back of the pickup truck, I don’t know that you have the mental acuity to be operating a motor vehicle.”

Meanwhile, Acosta took his TDS further as he advanced his concerns about “Trump’s rhetoric” and the “violent video of the president” before bringing in his guest author Ruth Ben-Ghiat.

“This week he’s pledging to address ‘Biden’s border bloodbath’ — putting a lot of these in quote just to make sure you understand this is Trump’s rhetoric. This just 11 days after insisting that that rhetoric was exclusively about the economic consequences of a Biden victory,” said the anchor. “You know, when we talk about Trump sharing this violent video of the president, President Biden hog-tied in the bed of a pickup truck, you know, we saw the consequences of his words on January 6th. How concerned are you about this kind of stuff sparking some kind of violence? What do you think?”

“I’m very concerned,” she said as they wondered whether or not a visit from the United States Secret Service was warranted.
