Patriotic UNC frat bros start school year with $515K ‘Flagstock’ rager

A group of fraternity brothers rallied around the American flag — literally — at the University of North Carolina back in May when pro-Palestinian protesters tried to take down the Star Spangled Banner for a second time to replace it with the Palestinian flag.

The incident resulted in someone setting up a GoFundMe page for the fraternity brothers, with the page declaring, “Throw ‘em a Rager.”

“Commie losers across the country have invaded college campuses to make dumb demands of weak University Administrators. But amidst the chaos, the screaming, the anti-semitism, the hatred of faith and flag, stood a platoon of American heroes,” the campaign description said in part.

Well, that rager, dubbed “Flagstock 2024,” took place this week after more than $515,000 was donated to the cause and it featured country music stars John Rich and Lee Greenwood, along with John Ondrasik and Aaron Lewis.

The Daily Wire sent a videographer Kassy Akiva to the event which included a military flyover and a fireworks show — the outlet released the following video capturing some of the day’s highlights:

“If you had enough courage to defend our flag, then by God we have enough courage to show up in your backyard and play you a concert!” Rich told the crowd Monday.

The performer said many of the artists “did it on their own dime.”

“You know why? Because they know there’s only one of two choices coming up here soon. It’s communism versus freedom, and we’re going to pick freedom every single time,” Rich said.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
