Proposed ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ to hold illegal aliens could be the most Florida thing ever

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has proposed what he calls a “one-stop shop to carry out President Trump’s mass deportation agenda.”

Uthmeier pitched a new migrant detention facility located deep in the swamps of the Everglades in a video shared on social media — he dubbed it the “Alligator Alcatraz.”

“You don’t need to invest that much in the perimeter. People get out, there’s not that much waiting for them other than alligators and pythons,” he said in the video. “Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.”

The post caption reads, “Alligator Alcatraz: the one-stop shop to carry out President Trump’s mass deportation agenda.”

The migrant detention facility could be operational within 30 to 60 days of construction and house more than 1,000 illegal immigrants, Uthmeier said.

It would be built at the “virtually abandoned” Miami-Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport off Tamiami Trail, according to the attorney general, with the site’s appeal being elevated because it has an airstrip.

Florida, under the direction of Gov. Ron DeSantis, has been the most aggressive state in assisting the Trump administration in carrying out its mass deportation agenda, which was necessitated by a virtual invasion by as many as 20 million illegal immigrants in four short years under the Biden regime.

And while the liberal media may be having palpitations over the idea, social media users seemed to be all for it — here’s a sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
