Rashida Tlaib to Antony Blinken: ‘Resign now’

Now that they don’t have “Genocide Joe” to kick around anymore, leftists are refocusing their anger over the war in Gaza elsewhere, and a “Squad” member has painted a bullseye on Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s back.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) became the first lawmaker to demand the resignation of the nation’s top diplomat on Thursday when she took to X to rage at Blinken who she accused of lying to protect Israel and allowing Palestinians to starve to death.

Sharing a link to a story that Blinken rejected the findings of two government agencies that alleged that the Jewish state was blocking humanitarian aid to Gaza where it’s embroiled in a war with the Hamas terror organization, the Michigan Muslim firebrand called for him to “resign now.”

“@SecBlinken lied. People went hungry, and some died. He needs to resign now,” she wrote.

In the story shared by Tlaib, a far-left website referenced a ProPublica report from this week that the U.S. Agency for International Development and the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration “concluded this spring that Israel had deliberately blocked deliveries of food and medicine into Gaza.”

The secretary of state was informed of the findings in April, according to the outlet, but “did not accept either finding” and days later, he told Congress in a statement that “We do not currently assess that the Israeli government is prohibiting or otherwise restricting the transport or delivery of U.S. humanitarian assistance.”

Tlaib and her fellow anti-Israel activists had spent months on offense against President Joe Biden in a full-court blitz to bully him into a ceasefire in Gaza, and the congresswoman spearheaded a protest in the Michigan Democrat primary in February to get over 100,000 people to vote “uncommitted” in a message to the incumbent.

But the pressure campaign against the geriatric Democrat was defused when his own party pulled the plug on his candidacy in July in an elite coup quarterbacked by former speaker Nancy Pelosi, removing their leverage of the threat to stay home in November if he didn’t force Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to call off the dogs before Hamas has been destroyed.

The notoriously volatile “Squad” member has had herself quite a week. On Monday she called for the Biden-Harris administration to cut off weapons shipments to Israel amid escalating tensions in Lebanon after the U.S. embassy in Beirut sounded the alarm for Americans to get out while they still can.

She was also criticized for anti-Semitism after accusing Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel of heavy-handed treatment of anti-Israel protesters because she’s Jewish, and was at the center of a controversy over a cartoon depicting her as having one of the Hezbollah exploding pagers.

Tlaib has been critical of Blinken previously in a post to X asking “Is this a joke?” when he recognized the anniversary of the Geneva Conventions last month.

“You supported sending more U.S.-made bombs being used to commit war crimes. The government of Israel bombed hospitals, schools, and tents full of displaced Palestinians. How can you say you are for respecting international human rights laws?” Tlaib raged.
