The vice president’s efforts to run a campaign on nothing but vibes couldn’t feel away her past remarks as a declarative position on reparations resurfaced.
“When I’m elected president, I will…”
In the middle of the Venn diagram of President Joe Biden’s 2020 basement bonanza and the premise of the 90s sitcom “Seinfeld,” the show about nothing, is where one would find Vice President Kamala Harris’ current campaign strategy.
While she continued to avoid press conferences after a single softball interview and doubts remained about the upcoming debate with former President Donald Trump, a revealing clip from her previous failed White House bid confirmed the Democratic Party nominee was all-in for exploring taxpayer-funded reparations.
In a clip shared on X by Eric Abbenante, Harris could be seen at the end of her speech at the 2019 National Action Network convention where Rev. Al Sharpton asked, “In the area of reparations for descendants of Africans enslaved: Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) has proposed a bill to form a commission to study how to do reparations. If you’re elected president, would you sign that bill if it came across your desk?”
Turning the microphone to the then-California senator, she earned cheers and applause when she decidedly said, “When I’m elected president, I will sign that bill.”
When running for president in 2020, Kamala Harris told Al Sharpton that she would sign a reparations bill once elected:

In sharing the video, Abbenante drew a contrast with the discriminatory handout proposal and said, “Trump gave all Americans ‘reparations’ by providing a booming economy with low inflation, interest rates, and affordable prices. Kamala Harris is so bad at economics that she thinks grocery stores are ‘price gouging’ (gauging) but in reality, their profit margin under Biden-Harris is 1.2%.”
Much like her fence-riding on the Israel-Hamas conflict that repeatedly left her signaling capitulation to terrorist sympathizers and abandonment of allies in the Jewish state, the impact of activist voters loomed large.
Over the weekend in California, protesters railed at the State Capitol when two reparations bills were left without a vote over concerns that their passage would ultimately be stymied by a veto from Gov. Gavin Newsom (D).
As had been reported, protesters expressed their willingness to impact the 2024 election if they didn’t get their way stating unequivocally, “This is going to impact your friend, Kamala Harris, who’s running for president.”
Abbenante also reminded social media about remarks made by Steve Harvey during an interview with Harris prior to her coronation atop the ticket at the 100 Black Men of America conference where she smiled along as the entertainer expressed, “If we don’t vote, how we going to ask for something next time? You talking about reparations. Ain’t nobody finna give you reparations if you don’t vote.”
Meanwhile, users appeared unsurprised as many reacted that the take was further proof that the empty-suit politician would say anything to try to get votes.

These people must understand that Kamala will say anything to get votes.

Pandering is all she is doing.

She won’t it’s just to get the black vote. Just like Newsom never did and they fall for it every time. It’s vastly unpopular

Another lie to get votes from Kamala!
California also promised and…nothing.
