‘Something’s going on there’: Tucker wonders what in Lindsey Graham’s ‘personal life’ might explain his ‘crazy’ view on Ukraine

Tucker Carlson, like many conservative Americans, is trying to make sense out of the recent actions of Republican U.S. senators, who — despite soaring inflation, destructive “woke” policies aimed at indoctrinating children to the point of mutilation, and a wide-open border that allows for human trafficking, a steady flow of fentanyl, and enough illegal migrants to swamp entire cities — decided to relinquish any leverage they had against insane spending on causes that don’t address the suffering of our nation’s citizens with a $1.7 trillion omnibus package.

The controversial Fox News host delivered a monologue on Thursday that attempted to explain why so many repeatedly stood and cheered for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the additional $1.8 billion in weapons and aid to secure his border and then attempted to publicly shame anyone who didn’t enthusiastically join in on the love fest.

As an example, Carlson pointed to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and suggested his “personal life” might offer an explanation for what he calls a “crazy” goal with respect to Ukraine.

“So the other day, Lindsey Graham came out, the Republican from South Carolina, and said that he agreed with Joe Biden and Zelenskyy,” Carlson said. “The real goal is not to move Russian troops out of Ukraine, back to pre-February borders. The real goal is regime change in Russia.”

The host played a clip of Graham speaking to Fox News on Wednesday, in which the senator asked, “How does this war end?”

“When Russia breaks and they take Putin out,” Graham stated. “Anything short of that, the war is going to continue.”

“To ask the Ukrainians to give Russia part of their country after all this death and destruction is not going to happen,” he continued. “To signal a cease-fire, Russia will take the opportunity to rearm and come at them again. So we’re in it to win it. And the only way you’re going to win it is to break the Russian military and have somebody in Russia take Putin out.”

So, while his constituents choose between Christmas presents and heating their homes, Lindsey Graham is focused on helping a guy in a sweatshirt take out the leader of a nuclear-armed nation.

“So, it’s really hard to overstate how crazy this is,” Carlson said. “And you don’t want to play shrink and wonder about, you know, what emptiness at the core of Lindsey Graham’s personal life causes him to identify so strongly with a country he’s not a citizen of.”

“Something’s going on there,” he surmised. “But the effect is incredibly reckless and crazy.”

The dig was a reference to Graham’s status as a confirmed bachelor — one that has fueled some to wonder if Graham is secretly gay.

But Carlson’s point was that a lonely little man in a position of power is fine with ignoring the needs of Americans and backing a disrespectful foreign leader in pursuit of a goal that could get us all killed.

Take out Putin. Putin’s bad. Kill him. Fine,” said Carlson. “What happens then?”

“Well, the world’s largest landmass falls into ungovernable chaos,” he continued. “And that country has the world’s largest nuclear arsenal. What happens to all those weapons? In a country with a lot of people who hate us. Lindsey Graham has no idea. He doesn’t care. He’s not interested. He’s not going to be here to find out.”

“And none of the lawmakers who clapped yesterday had any idea either,” Carlson stated. “They’re clapping for regime change. They’re clapping for an uncertain and incredibly dangerous future. It’s not getting the Russian military out of Ukraine. It’s much more than that. And they don’t want to know more.

“And you know what they don’t care about?” he asked. “You, your health care, your southern border, your children, your schools, your country. They don’t care.”

Meanwhile, Graham appeared on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle” on Thursday to blast President Joe Biden for his failure to visit the southern border.

“It is so unconscionable for him not to go to the border and listen to the agents and people trying to control the border, what life is like along the southern border,” Graham told guest host Brian Kilmeade. “The fact that he doesn’t go shows to me that he’s disconnected and he does not give a damn.”

“Get your ass outta the White House and go to the border!” Graham exclaimed.

As is so often the case with Graham, it’s a forceful statement and, given his voting record, little else.

As one user on Twitter put it, “[Lindsey Graham] complains about Biden and the border but votes for a spending package that doesn’t secure the border and includes Malthusian solutions and abortion funding. Shame.”
