‘Tax them to the white meat’ – Mamdani’s new chief equity officer’s shockingly racist social media post

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s new chief equity officer is under fire over her social media posts, including one in which she calls for taxing white liberal people “to the white meat,” a shockingly racist remark from a public official.

In the since-deleted posts, Afua Atta-Mensah expresses disparaging opinions about white liberal women, uses the term “comrade” throughout the posts, and shares racially inflammatory statements from others, with one example being “there’s NO moderate way to black liberation.”

The posts from the new Gotham equity queen’s personal X account were unearthed by the New York Young Republicans Club and shared with the New York Post, which reported on the disturbing material over the weekend.

“We have the receipts, and we are here to win. These tweets by Afua Atta-Mensah are just the tip of the iceberg, and New York is not going down without a fight,” the NYYRC said in a Sunday post to X. “The anti-white racism of Mamdani’s inner circle will be on full display for all New York to see.”

“There is no one I trust more to advance racial equity across our work in City Hall,” Mamdani said of Atta-Mensah, who “apparently deactivated” the account “within a week of her Thursday appointment,” according to the New York Post.

In a December 2021 post from a user commenting on how the show “Succession” made him want to see punitive taxation of white people, the future NYC diversity chief enthusiastically agreed, writing “Tax Them To The White Meat!!!” with a series of black clapping hands emojis.

In another of the offensive posts, Atta-Mensah responded to a user’s take that “we don’t talk about white liberal racism enough.”

“Facts! It would need to be a series of loooooonnnnnnnggggg conversations” she replied.

In another thread asking, “Who’s not police but FEELS like police to you?” the new appointee replied, “white women at nonprofit organizations.”

One post likened white women to Amy Cooper, the white woman who was vilified as the “Central Park Karen” after she called the police on a black birdwatcher in 2020.

“A lot of y’all are Amy Coopers to the Black women in your non-profits every day,” the post read, which the Atta-Mensah responded, “THIS IS A WHOLE WORD!!!!,” the New York Post reported.

“Today, I appointed Afua Atta-Mensah as the Chief Equity Officer and Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Equity & Racial Justice,” Hizzoner said in a Jan. 15 post to X announcing his new racial equity czar.

“Afua has dedicated her career to serving the New Yorkers who are so often forgotten in the halls of power. In this new role, she will advance that mission across our government and deliver a more equitable city for all,” Mamdani wrote. “That work starts with finally fulfilling the city’s promise of a Preliminary Citywide Racial Equity Plan and embracing the diverse fabric that makes our city special.”

Atta-Mensah is the second member of Mamdani’s new administration to spark controversy over anti-white racism while expressing support for communist ideas.

New tenant advocate Cea Weaver suggested that the property of “white families” could be seized for the collective good in remarks that went viral on social media after they were resurfaced earlier this month.

In an archived X post, Weaver also said, “Private property, including any kind of ESPECIALLY homeownership, is a weapon of white supremacy.”

“Homeownership is racist/failed public policy,” she also wrote, calling for “collective” ownership and “shared equity” for property.

“Zohran’s team tried to be more careful after the Cea Weaver disaster, but we caught Atta-Mensah before she could scrub her digital footprint,” New York Young Republicans Club President Stefano Forte said.
