A former ABC News correspondent has admitted that his superiors at the network “shut down” his report on then-President Joe Biden’s failing health.
Former ABC News correspondent Terry Moran made the bombshell admission while appearing this Sunday on The Daily Beast’s podcast.
“In 2020, late 2023, early 2024, you know, it was pretty clear that Biden was fading rather quickly,” he began. “I actually traveled with him to Japan in the spring of 2023 and kind of eyeballed him there, and I thought, okay, he’s still functioning, but man, he’s frail. He looked like he’d blow away in a stiff wind.”
“And his voice was getting lower and lower and he’d whisper most of the time,” Moran continued. “I thought somebody in Christmas 2023, somebody who loves him a lot, I said this to Hunter Biden, should say that it’s over.”

Yet Biden stayed in the race, prompting Moran to want to run a story about his failing health. There was just one problem.
“I tried to do the story of Biden’s health before anybody else did in network, because I’d seen it, and I got shut down very hard,” he explained. “I wrote an email to everybody as gently and as respectfully as I could. I think I still have it.”
“And it was like, you know, this is a legit issue for Americans to be interested in,” he continued. “I’m not a doctor. I’m not diagnosing. But we all know what we know when we see people fading. We all have had grandparents. We’re all getting old ourselves. And so there’s no doubt about it. This is a legitimate concern for the voters of America.”
In response, his superiors told him that Biden’s health was “the medical unit’s business, not yours.”
What makes Moran’s admission particularly palpable is that it isn’t coming from a place of animosity, in that he isn’t some right-winger. He’s a full-fledged left-winger who famously accused White House advisor Stephen Miller of being “richly endowed with the capacity for hatred.”
For writing this about Miller, he was rightly fired.

Moran was also torn into by liberal comedian Bill Maher.
“This guy is a reporter … what the f–k?” Maher said on his HBO program. “I’m looking for you to be impartial. Just give me the facts.”

Moran also has a history of complaining about the Trump administration’s tough but fair illegal immigration policies.
“Barack Obama deported more than 3 million people from this country while he was president. No masked gangs descending on neighborhoods, snatching ordinary working people from their cars and disappearing them, storming homes without judicial warrants,” he tweeted in January.
The tweet was posted in response to a video of a woman being detained by immigration officials for interfering in their operation.

To Moran’s credit, he’s at least aware of his bias.
“Let’s talk about bias,” Moran wrote in a Substack article published last year. “I worked at ABC News for almost 28 years, and I’m proud to say that. A lot of good people do a lot of really good work there, and they try hard to get the story right. … But: Were we biased? Yes.”
“Almost inadvertently, I’d say,” he continued. “ABC News has the same problem so many leading cultural institutions do in America: A lack of viewpoint diversity.”
He also admitted that ABC News was (and probably still is) full of left-wingers.
“It is no secret. There are hardly any people who supported Donald Trump at ABC News — or the other corporate/legacy/mainstream news networks,” he explained. “And this is bound to impact coverage.”
