Tim Scott folds to pressure, finally reveals mystery girlfriend following GOP debate

After dodging demands for details about his love life, Sen. Tim Scott appeared to be putting speculation to rest at the Republican primary debate on Wednesday.

The 2024 GOP hopeful from South Carolina had not given much in the way of information about his purported “girlfriend,” whom he mentioned earlier this year, but the big reveal came in Miami where the bachelor was seen with the mystery woman he’s been dating for”about a year.”

The couple posed for photos after the debate and Scott’s campaign identified the woman as his girlfriend, Mindy Noce.

“Scott says he has been dating Noce, a design and renovations manager in Charleston, S.C., for about a year or so,'” Axios reporter Sophia Cai noted.

“For months, top GOP donors and their allies privately had pushed Scott, 58, for more detail about his bachelor status,” she added. “Scott first mentioned he had a girlfriend at an Axios event in May, saying, ‘To suggest that somehow being married or not married is going to be the determining factor of whether you’re a good president or not — it sounds like we’re living in 1963 and not 2023.'”

In Iowa in September, Scott had mentioned that he was dating “a lovely Christian girl,” but did not deliver on any more details at the time.

ABC News’ Linsey Davis directly questioned the GOP candidate about the woman in his life following the debate.

Scott said that they “both love the Lord and have a healthy respect for one another.” He also hoped that “as life continues it will continue to see our relationship evolve.”

The reveal sparked plenty of reactions on X where social media users needed some convincing.
