‘Total bullsh*t!’ Lindsey Graham feigns passion over voter integrity in bizarre outburst

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, the warhawk Republican from South Carolina who never met a foreign conflict he couldn’t embrace, took his dog and pony show to Fox News on Thursday, as the GOP-led Senate drags its feet on ensuring election integrity.

The push to pass the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and implement photo ID requirements, is backed by President Trump, but RINOs in the Senate are proving to be a major roadblock to the overwhelmingly popular legislation — 71% of Democrats favor voter ID.

And that’s where Graham comes into play, to feign a little fight for his colleagues who have no stomach for countering wide-open, easily manipulated elections favored by the radical left.

However, as seen below, the Republican senator may have overplayed his hand, to the surprise of host Sean Hannity:

To his credit, Graham pointed to tough voter laws in Georgia in response to cries from the left, pointing out that blacks “voted in larger numbers” afterwards.

“What they want is to cheat. They want to make it so you can cheat. That’s why they oppose it,” he said of Democrats.

Tough talk, yet Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) is in no hurry to push the legislation through, opting instead to play games with the American people. Thune gave assurances that he would fall back to a standing filibuster, which requires continuous, live debate to delay or block a vote on legislation, to persuade GOP members in the House to vote for a funding bill without voter integrity legislation attached.

“We got assurances on the standing filibuster…this is an old-school procedure to break through traditional norms to get voter ID passed,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) said on Monday.

Thune quickly backtracked as soon as the appropriations bill passed, arguing that a standing filibuster would take up too much of their time. Sadly, Senate Republicans refuse to nuke the filibuster altogether, though it’s almost certain that Democrats will once they regain the majority.

“We’ll vote on the SAVE Act,” he said. “But exercising or triggering a talking filibuster has ramifications, implications that I think everybody needs to be aware of. So we will have those discussions.”

A straight-up vote dooms the legislation to failure with no Democrats getting on board.

“We should have voter ID, by the way,” Trump said at an Oval Office press conference on Tuesday. “We should have a lot of the things that I think everybody wants to see. Who would not want voter ID? Only somebody that wants to cheat.”

One thing is certain, Graham failed to persuade many on social media – here’s a quick sampling of responses, as seen on X:
