Former President Donald J. Trump ventured onto the home turf of a top GOP rival when he attended the Clemson-South Carolina college football rivalry game on Saturday night.
In a message to the state’s former governor Nikki Haley, the 2024 frontrunner was loudly cheered by fans at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia who chanted “We want Trump! We want Trump!” and “USA! USA! USA!” showing that the Palmetto State is still Trump country.
“Getting ready to leave for the Great State of South Carolina, to attend the Palmetto Bowl. Will be a terrific game. See you all later!” Trump wrote on Truth Social before heading out to the game.
Fans in the stands erupted in cheers as Trump strode across the field before kickoff, a sign that all the propaganda and weaponizing of the legal system against him hasn’t convinced a sizable number of Americans that he’s the great Satan that the Biden regime, Democrats and the thoroughly corrupt media have portrayed him to be.

But not everyone was happy to see Trump with some members of the Clemson band booing him, one of several clips that have been cherry picked and posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, to spin the crowd as being hostile to the former, and perhaps future POTUS.

Haley who is a Clemson alumni and trustee did not attend the game, a defensive 16-7 struggle that was taken by the Tigers thanks to three field goals by kicker Jonathan Weitz.
While the media has settled on the former governor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations as their choice for the GOP nomination, Trump still holds a commanding lead over the remaining field with the South Carolina primary now only three months away.
Haley recently scoffed at Trump’s advantage in the early going.
“I’ve always said that he was the right president at the right time and I agree with a lot of his policies,” Haley said in a Fox News appearance earlier this month, adding “the problem is drama and chaos follows him, whether fairly or not. It is constantly following him and Americans feel it.”
Trump has honored Haley with one of the nicknames that he has effectively used to label his political adversaries, tabbing her as “Birdbrain.”
