Former President Donald Trump had the pleasure of meeting a sweet, young fan backstage at his rally on Wednesday.
The family of Liam, an 8-year-old Trump supporter with a rare brain disease, attended the Uniondale rally at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and was even given the opportunity to go backstage and meet the man himself.
According to Siobhan, Liam’s mother, doctors said the young man’s condition was so severe that he may never talk, walk, or be able to eat independently.
“My buddy here plays ice hockey, he does roller hockey, he does very good in school, plays sports…we’re so proud of him,” she told Fox News Digital.
The family was invited to Uniondale after receiving a letter from Trump, marking Liam’s 8th birthday. The young man burst into tears as his mother read the letter aloud.
“Dear Liam, Happy 8th birthday,” the message read. “Mrs. Trump and I hope you enjoy this special occasion surrounded by the love of your family and friends. We are so encouraged by the strength and determination you have shown throughout your young life, and send our love and best wishes to you as you continue to fight.”
“Remember you are never alone, and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for continued care and good health. May God bless you and your family. Stay strong. Sincerely,” the message continued.
Liam’s mother asked him who signed the letter, prompting him to say “Donald Trump.”
“He knew it was your birthday coming up?” his mom asked.

In Uniondale, Liam received more than a letter.
I’m not crying, you are.

“I’m supposed to be on that stage, but that doesn’t matter because I got you the best present. This is the best present you’ll ever have,” the former president greeted Liam and his family. “In there is real good stuff.”
“We’re gonna have that picture for life, you and I,” he told Liam. “Take care of yourself, okay? I wish I looked like that or if I looked like that, I’d be president.”
Liam’s dad was grateful for the moment his son was able to share with Trump.
“It’s a pipe dream, I can never imagine, to thank the world for helping my son come this far and showing support and making his dream come true, because, believe it or not, this is definitely probably one of his big dreams, to meet Donald Trump, his hero since he was probably born. If not, very close.”
“Trump 2024!” Liam said.
