President Donald J. Trump suggested that Volodymyr Zelenskyy could be ousted amid continued fallout over the Ukrainian leader’s disrespectful meltdown at the White House last week.
In what should have been a triumphant moment for the ungrateful leader if he could have held his emotions in check, Zelenskyy argued with Trump and Vice President JD Vance in front of reporters, angering the president who booted him from the premises without signing a rare earth minerals deal with the U.S. that was worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
On Monday, during a press conference after the announcement that a major Taiwanese chip manufacturer would invest $100 billion in U.S. manufacturing plants, one reporter tried to spin peace negotiations into Russiagate 2.0 by asking Trump if he was concerned that the Russian government said that they had common foreign policy goals.
TRUMP: “The [Ukraine] deal can be made very fast. It should not be that hard a deal to make … Now, maybe somebody doesn’t want to make a deal. And if somebody doesn’t want to make a deal, I think that person won’t be around very long.” pic.twitter.com/7nnP1pIBGy

But Trump seized the opportunity to put the onus on the rude guest who needs to get with the program and stop obstructing progress to end the bloody three-year war that has cost untold thousands of young Ukrainian men their lives.
“Well, I tell you what, I think it takes two to tango, and you’re going to have to make a deal with Russia, and you’re going to have to make a deal with Ukraine,” the president replied.
“Now, maybe somebody doesn’t want to make a deal, and if somebody doesn’t want to make a deal, I think that person won’t be around very long. That person will not be listened to very long,” Trump continued. “Because I believe that Russia wants to make a deal. I believe, certainly, the people of Ukraine want to make a deal.”
“I want all of those young people to stop being killed — they’re being killed by the thousands every single week,” he said, adding that Zelenskyy should be “more appreciative” of America’s support “because this country has stuck with them through thick and thin.”
The arrogant Ukrainian “dictator without elections,” as Trump dubbed him, is going to have to choke down a big helping of crow if he expects to get back into good graces with the administration, with the White House wanting Zelenskyy to publicly apologize for his poor manners.

“I have been told by a senior official here that nothing’s going to happen with this minerals deal until Zelenskyy goes in front of cameras and makes an explicit public apology for the way that he behaved himself, behaved in the Oval Office with that meeting,” Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy reported on Monday.
Zelenskyy had his chance to apologize for his boorish conduct during an interview with Bret Baier hours after his Oval Office meltdown but declined to do so despite being specifically asked by the Fox News anchor if he would do so.
The leader of the free world was also critical of the top Ukrainian who was quoted by the Associated Press as saying the end of the war is “very, very far away.”
“This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer! It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?” Trump wrote in a Monday post to Truth Social.
