Trump throws Great Gatsby-themed Halloween bash and the left can’t cope

President Donald J. Trump celebrated Halloween in high style, hosting a Great Gatsby-themed party at Mar-a-Lago on Friday night that drew shrieks of outrage from Democrats whose shutdown of the federal government has dragged on for over a month.

The Halloween bash was first reported by Associated Press White House correspondent Danny Kemp, who shared a picture of the president and his guests, some of whom were dressed up in Roaring Twenties attire – the period in which the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald chronicles – and from the looks of it, having a splendid time.

“Trump and Rubio at the Mar-a-Lago Halloween Party, on day 31 of the shutdown. Official theme is Gatsby and ‘a little party never killed nobody’, we’re told,” Kemp wrote, referring to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was sitting at the president’s table.

The president is seen smiling while talking to a guest in a short video posted to X by NewsNation White House correspondent Kellie Meyer.

C-SPAN Comms Director Howard Mortman also posted a video of the party.

The Gatsby-themed Halloween event came on the night before tens of millions of food stamp recipients faced a suspension of their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, which were set to be cut off thanks to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and his fellow Democrats, who would sooner see families starve than reopen the government.

A top House Democrat has openly admitted that the party is callously exploiting the suffering of the needy as “leverage” to extort Republicans into agreeing to their obscene demands, first and foremost, giving free healthcare to illegal aliens.

One of the Democrats who is responsible for the potential withholding of SNAP benefits hypocritically howled about the Halloween party.

“The way he rubs his inhumanity in Americans” face never ceases to stun me,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) wrote on X.. “He’s illegally refusing to pay food stamp benefits…while he throws a ridiculously over the top Gatsby party for his right wing millionaire and corporate friends.”

More leftists whined that Trump would have the audacity to enjoy himself on Halloween.

“It’s their fault,” Trump told reporters on Friday, putting the blame on Murphy and his fellow extortionists. “Everything is their fault. It’s so easily solved.”

SNAP recipients have been given a reprieve from the Democrats’ snatching their November benefits after a pair of judges swooped in to the rescue to order the administration to tap emergency reserve funds for payments.

“The Democrats should quit this charade where they hurt people for their own political reasons, and immediately REOPEN THE GOVERNMENT. If you use SNAP benefits, call the Senate Democrats, and tell them to reopen the Government, NOW! Here is Cryin’ Chuck Schumer’s Office Number: (202) 224-6542,” Trump wrote in a Friday post to Truth Social, sharing the Senate minority leader’s phone number.
