U.S. Marines ‘prepared to deploy’ to LA, Newsom’s day about to get even worse

Nearly 500 active duty United States Marines are reportedly “ready to deploy” to Los Angeles amid ongoing riots.

As protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement activities in the California city turned violent, the Marine Corps unit is prepared to intervene if federal property and personnel need protection.

The U.S. Northern Command announced the steps being taken in the L.A. area, including the National Guard deployment.

“By direction of Secretary of Defense and in coordination with U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), approximately 2,000 California Army National Guard soldiers have been placed under federal command and control in a Title 10 status to support the protection of federal personnel and federal property in the greater Los Angeles area,” the USNORTHCOM press release read.

“At this time, there are approximately 300 members of the California Army National Guard’s 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team deployed at the following locations in the greater Los Angeles area: Los Angeles, Paramount, and Compton, California,” the release continues.

“Additionally, approximately 500 Marines from 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines at Twentynine Palms, California, are in a prepared-to-deploy status should they be necessary to augment and support the DoD’s protection of federal property and personnel efforts,” USNORTHCOM added.

President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth directed National Guard troops to the area on Sunday despite Gov. Gavin Newsom’s objections.

The Democrat governor called the move a “serious breach of state sovereignty,” adding that “We didn’t have a problem until Trump got involved.”

The Trump White House fired back in a post on the Rapid Response account, telling Newsom, “Stop trying to pick a fight with a President restoring order to the chaos caused by your failed leadership, and do your job.”
