WH spox melts down, hangs up on radio host who inquired if Biden has dementia

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre melted down when she was asked about her boss’s mental condition during a radio interview, a touchy subject.

During a trip to North Carolina with Vice President Kamala Harris to promote the administration’s election-year pitch for lower healthcare costs, Jean-Pierre was put off by legitimate questions from WBT Charlotte news director Mark Garrison who inquired whether Joe Biden has dementia.

“When I told a number of people that I was talking to you today, it was interesting, though, they all said, ‘would you please just ask her, does the president have dementia?’ So before I move on from that, does he?” Garrison asked.

“Mark, Mark, I can’t even believe you’re asking me this question,” exclaimed the prickly diversity hire “That is an incredibly offensive question to ask.”

“But, you know people ask it,” Garrison said.

“Wait. Oh let me — no, no, no, no, no. You — Mark, you, you, you, you, you’re taking us down this rabbit hole. Let me, let me, let me be very clear about this,” Jean-Pierre responded.

“For the past several years, the president’s physician has laid out very, in a comprehensive way, the president’s health,” she continued, spinning like a top. “This is a president, if you watch him every day, if you really pay attention to his record and what he has done, you will see exactly how focused he’s been on the American people, how historic his actions have been. And so I’m not even going to truly, truly, really, you know, take, take the premise of your question. I think it is incredibly insulting. And, and so we can, you know, we can move on to the next question.”

Then after a typically deceptive answer to a question about grocery prices, she hung up on Garrison.

Jean-Pierre’s reaction shows how deeply Biden’s team is concerned about public perception of the geriatric leader’s age and clearly declining mental faculties and he isn’t helping the matter with his near-daily senior moments, the latest being a claim about the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore that collapsed after being rammed by a container ship.

“At about 1:30, a container ship struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which I’ve been over many, many times commuting from the state of Delaware either on a train or by car,” Biden said on Tuesday in remarks about the shocking disaster that drew attention for the fact that before it was destroyed, the bridge didn’t have railroad tracks.

Biden’s handlers are still reeling from the damage done to their narrative that Biden may be old but he’s still fit for the job by special counsel Robert Hur’s devastating description of him in last month’s report on the probe into his mishandling of classified material, and like the persistent high cost of groceries, they can’t hide his senility from voters.
