Darius Rucker’s bikini-clad ex-girlfriend has some cheeky things to say about his arrest

Country music star Darius Rucker made headlines for all the wrong reasons when he was arrested in Tennessee on drug charges, news that drew a savage response from the musician’s ex-girlfriend.

The Hootie & The Blowfish frontman was booked into Williamson County jail on a trio of misdemeanor charges on Thursday, and comedian Kate Quigley slammed her former boyfriend on X.

“Yes. I’ve heard. All I can say is Karma,” she wrote, adding a heart emoji.

In another X post, Quigley shared a pic of herself laying back in a bikini with the harsh remarks, “Mood when u hear your d-bag ex got arrested,” along with a face savoring food and heart emoji and a #Karma hashtag.

The two dated for a short period in 2020 after the singer announced that he was splitting up from his longtime wife Beth whom he was married to for 20 years.

She had previously ripped her ex-beau after he told reporters that she was “doing great” after a drug overdose that nearly killed her.

“Hi Darius, Could u plz refrain from making public comments about my health or well-being since u haven’t called once to see how im doing & have no clue? Thanks Boo Boo!!!” Quigley wrote on X, hen Twitter, in September 2021.

Quigley had been hospitalized after she allegedly used cocaine that had been laced with deadly fentanyl at a party. Three of her friends weren’t as lucky and died from the accidental group overdose.

Rucker’s team had released a statement saying that the two weren’t dating at the time of her OD, drawing another harsh response from Quigley.

“That Stung. Won’t lie. When i saw the TMZ report i thought, great. He’s probably writing a song about me called, ‘Let Her Die,” she tweeted, referring to the hit Hootie & the Blowfish song “Let Her Cry.”

“Darius’ rep, however, confirms to TMZ … he is not dating Kate, and hasn’t been for a while. They were reportedly going out for a good chunk of last year — and there’s photos of them on her IG page as a couple from this past May. Seems there’s no affiliation now, though,” according to the TMZ report that she was referring to.

Rucker was charged with simple possession and casual exchange of a controlled substance and another of violation the Tennessee vehicle registration law.

The singer was released on a $10,500 bond.

Hootie & the Blowfish will be hitting the road this summer for the band’s “Summer Camp with Trucks Tour” which kicks off with a show at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas on May 30 and will wrap up in late September with a gig at iTHINK Financial Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL, according to the group’s website.
