An unarmed 62-year-old Army veteran was gunned down in Florida by a woman arguing over a parking spot at a local Walmart.
Bart Diguglielmo was fatally shot Tuesday in a North Lauderdale Walmart parking lot, during what was reported to be a confrontation over a parking space, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting was captured on camera — Diguglielmo can be seen walking toward the black woman, who raised her arm after a brief standoff and fired a single shot into his abdomen:

“The woman remained at the scene, cooperated with detectives and told investigators she fired in self-defense,” Fox News reported, citing the BCSO.
More from the network:
Her identity has not been released, and homicide detectives said the case will be presented to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.
ADVERTISEMENTAuthorities have not released additional details about what led to the confrontation or said whether investigators believe the woman’s claim of self-defense. Prosecutors will review the completed investigation before deciding whether charges are warranted.
As seen in the recent case involving Karmelo Anthony, a 19-year-old black man who was convicted of first-degree murder after fatally stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, the notion of self-defense has taken on a whole different perspective for some. Metcalf was unarmed and, according to testimony, had only pushed Anthony before being stabbed in the heart.
Anthony’s claims of self-defense were rejected in court.
While social media users expressed surprise that Diguglielmo did not walk away when the woman produced a handgun, the consensus seemed to be that the shooting was still cold-blooded murder.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
This was Murder! His hands were at his sides and empty when she fired.
They were in a Public Parking Lot , it was not like he was breaking into her home or work.
Even if he was yelling at her or something. It would not excuse murder.

Where’s the self-defense? She left the argument, grabbed her gun from the car, came back, and shot an unarmed 62-year-old Army vet in the gut over a damn parking spot?
He had his hands up at one point. She had every chance to drive away. This isn’t self-defense—it’s straight-up…

Is there a link between melanin and believing that murdering someone in cold blood is self defense?

Why would he keep walking toward her when she has a gun pointed at him? I’m not saying what she did was right, but it’s going to be hard to defend his actions.
I’d have to see exactly when the shot was fired, but from this clip, it looks like he was the aggressor.

It’s a damn parking spot at Walmart…walk away…also if someone is pointing a gun in your direction, walk away!

Unbelievable that she shot him, but inexplicable that he continued walking towards her as she pointed a gun at him.
