After two men were acquitted of all charges, and two more faced a hung jury in the kidnapping plot of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, journalist Glenn Greenwald had a hard-hitting question.
Is Gretchen Whitmer mad at the FBI for creating, organizing, financing and overseeing a plot to kidnap her?

Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta were both cleared of conspiracy charges, with Harris additionally being acquitted of an explosives charge as well. However, Adam Fox and Barry Croft Jr. remain in custody after a deadlocked jury could not come to a unanimous decision about the charges they face.
There has been some discussion among critics that the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s sting was a “set up” that framed the men for something they had no intention of carrying out. In fact, their lawyers argued that any mention of kidnapping Whitmer was simply “stoned crazy talk,” as American Wire previously reported.
“This militia was a group of pot smokers who talked a big game, [defense attorney Joshua] Blanchard said, and the government knew it, arguing the FBI is supposed to protect people, ‘not catch people who say stupid stuff when they are high,’” the Free Press reported following a hearing Wednesday.
Social media responded to Greenwald’s question, with many insisting Whitmer herself was “in on it,” though to be clear, there is no evidence of that being the case:
No, I’m sure she knew all about it, loved the attention and thought it would help her and the Dems https://t.co/JAlnTYoIVa

Although none of the jurors opted to speak to the press regarding the outcomes, U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge announced that he was “disappointed with the outcome. … We have two defendants that are awaiting trial and we’ll get back to work on that.”
