Grammy-award winner responds to Trump by paying people to link GoFundMe accounts for transgender surgeries

A Grammy-award winning singer engaged in high-stakes virtue signaling to take on Donald Trump.

Folk artist Lucy Ducas announced on X that she’s willing to donate $10 grand in $500 increments to followers who link the GoFundMe accounts for transgender surgeries.

Dacus, who’s part of the all-female group “boygenius” also inadvertently spouted some truth in her post. “The government will never be the source of our validation or protection, we have to do it ourselves.”

While that statement on its own is arguably valid, the irony is lost on leftists like Dacus who are seemingly incensed over President Trump’s executive order “Defending women from gender ideology extremism and restoring biological truth to the federal government.”

Dacus was flooded with GoFundMe requests, but also received backlash with plenty of people thinking her donations would be better used elsewhere:

Yes!

Excellent question.

Dacus came out as queer in 2016 and is not new to the LGTBQ activism, Fox News reported. During a 2023 band tour, she led a ‘F**k Ron DeSantis” chant and also performed in drag in Nashville to protest Tennessee’s proposed law restricting drag shows for minors.

That law was struck down in 2023, but Dacus now has a much bigger battle to fight with President Trump’s sweeping new mandate.

“A truly spectacular exec order from Trump on the gender nonsense,” Megyn Kelly wrote on X shortly after President Trump took office on January 20th. “My [question] is: who is the brilliant aide that drafted this for him? It’s perfect. It’s just so, so good,” she continued and posted another user’s breakdown of the order:
