Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh barely reacted when given the news that his three terrorist sons and four grandchildren were killed in an IDF airstrike, quietly commenting “God rest their souls.”
“Hazem, Mohammed, and Amir have been killed, along with their children,” someone tearfully told Haniyeh on the phone, according to the New York Post.
Haniyeh was given the news Wednesday while touring a hospital in Qatar, visiting injured Palestinians. He insisted that the tour continue on after the jarring news as if nothing happened. The Hamas leader lives in exile in Qatar.
“The blood of my sons is not dearer than the blood of our people,” Haniyeh told pan-Arab Al Jazeera TV in an interview. “Our demands are clear and specific and we will not make concessions on them. The enemy will be delusional if it thinks that targeting my sons, at the climax of the negotiations and before the movement sends its response, will push Hamas to change its position.”
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, upon finding out his 3 terrorist sons were eliminated, thanks God for “the honor of their martyrdom.”

The Hamas leader has 13 children according to the terrorist organization. He later told Al Jazeera that his family members “were martyred on the road to liberating Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
“The top Hamas leader’s sons and four grandchildren — three boys and a girl — were riding in a car through Gaza’s Shati refugee camp to visit relatives on the first day of the Eid-al-Fitr holiday when it was hit by an Israeli missile,” the New York Post reported.
“The Israeli military confirmed the airstrike, saying that Hanieyeh’s sons were targeted because they were terrorists. It did not comment on the deaths of the grandchildren, claiming there was ‘no information on that right now,'” the media outlet added.
“The criminal enemy is driven by the spirit of revenge and murder and does not value any standards or laws,” Haniyeh told Al Jazeera.

Haniyeh’s eldest son confirmed in a Facebook post that his three brothers were killed in the airstrike, “Thanks to God who honoured us by the martyrdom of my brothers, Hazem, Amir and Mohammad and their children,” wrote Abdel-Salam Haniyeh.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly carried out the airstrike on Hanieyeh’s family members. Neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu nor Defense Minister Yoav Gallant were consulted before the bombing, according to Walla News, citing senior officials. The strike was planned and executed by the IDF and the Shin Bet internal security service.

“The three operatives that were struck are Amir Haniyeh, a cell commander in the Hamas military wing, Mohammad Haniyeh, a military operative in the Hamas terrorist organization, and Hazem Haniyeh, also a military operative in the Hamas terror organization,” the IDF and Israel’s Shin Bet intelligence agency said in a joint statement, adding that the three men “conducted terrorist activity in the central Gaza Strip.”
