House Dem slams Ilhan Omar for ‘pouring gasoline’ on anti-Semitic campus protests

A Democrat House member blasted Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) over her “pouring gasoline” on the anti-Semitic protests that have erupted on America’s college campuses.

He may be an attention-seeking congressional clown but Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) is one of the only lawmakers who will call out a member of his own party for her vile comments and brazen anti-Semitism, specifically her recent “blood libel” against Jewish Columbia University students.

The Florida Democrat appeared on Tuesday’s edition of “Morning Joe” on MSNBC where he and fellow House member Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) plugged their efforts to pass legislation that will help address the Jew-hatred on campus that has been fomented by the likes of Omar.

“This is not complicated, right?” Moskowitz said. “What we’re seeing is we’re seeing universities complicate it by failing to lead and protect their students, failing to enforce their code of conduct, taking options off the table, giving all the power to the protesters.”

“Listen, I have been to Colombia, I have talked to Jewish students, I have talked to the parents. And while there are peaceful protesters, while we do not want to lose sight, obviously, of the plight of the people in Gaza,” he continued. “It’s a real war and it’s terrible what’s happening to the people in Gaza. Make no mistake about it: There is a tremendous amount of anti-Semitism on what’s going on on these college campuses.”

He then slammed his Somali-born Democratic party colleague who he suggested was stirring the pot for her saying,“we should not have to tolerate anti-Semitism or bigotry for all Jewish students, whether they’re pro-genocide or anti-genocide,” remarks that received strong criticism, including from the Anti Defamation League.

“We have members in this body pouring gasoline on that by saying Jews fall into two buckets pro-genocide and anti-genocide,” Moskowitz said, without naming Omar. “I mean, I got a ten-year-old and seven-year-old Jewish children, I don’t know if they’re pro-genocide or anti-genocide. I guess I’ll talk to them about that.”

The congressman was referring to Omar’s declaration earlier this week that some of the Jewish students who are being terrorized by Hamas-supporting radical students are pro-genocide, an overused term that has been adopted by the most virulently anti-Semitic elements of the Democrat base – and some lawmakers – as a false characterization of Israels’ war on the terrorists.

Like her fellow “Squad” cohort Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Omar has a long history of hating on Israel and outright anti-Semitism, she has also appeared to express sympathies for radical Islamic terrorists in addition to a myriad of ethical issues, not the least of which is allegedly marrying her brother.

Last week, Omar’s daughter Isra Hirsi was suspended from nearby Barnard College for her involvement in the anti-Israel protests at Columbia University, showing that the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Moskowitz has relished in being a troll toward his Republican colleagues, recently prancing around in a Putin mask before a congressional hearing, raising questions about his maturity.
