Since there isn’t anything really important going on in the world, the media has swarmed over the troubles with the overhaul of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which is in the midst of an algae bloom.
In another shameless attempt to own President Donald J. Trump, who had the iconic D.C. landmark repainted in “American flag blue” to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary, the so-called guardians of democracy are devoting much airtime to the algae problem, as well as the peeling of the blue paint, which is being ripped off by vandals and souvenir seekers.
“The Reflecting Pool appears to Be rejecting its makeover,” crowed The New York Times, with other outlets breathlessly reporting from the site.

With the stalwart media shifting back into Trump fake scandal du jour mode for the midterms, the obsessive coverage of the Reflecting Pool has dominated coverage instead of the Iran war, rampant fraud, rigged elections, corrupt Democrat officials and outgoing DNI Tulsi Gabbard’s bombshell that Dr. Antony S. Fauci lied about COVID originating from a bat at a wet market.
Conservatives lashed out at the crooked outlets and their slanted reporting, taking to X to call out the blatant political bias.
“Pond scum gets the full investigative treatment. Massive fraud against the American taxpayer? Crickets,” wrote commentator Benny Johnson, sharing a clip from CNN. “This is EXACTLY why nobody trusts the retards in legacy media anymore.”
