MSNBC, owned by the NBCUniversal News Group division of NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast, continues to be a network where left-wing ideologues can appear and say the most outrageous, offensive things imaginable while unscrupulous hosts Nicole Wallace and Joy Reid compete to see who can offer the most repugnant programming.

On Thursday, during an episode of “Deadline: White House,” MSNBC contributor Dr. Jason Johnson was allowed to call the Republican Party “a dime-store front for a terrorist movement,” with Wallace offering no pushback.

The discussion was on the relationship between former President Donald Trump and the GOP ahead of the 2024 presidential election and Johnson, a tenured associate professor in the School of Global Journalism and Communication at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Md., compared the party to a terrorist organization.

“Here’s the problem, though. We don’t know if Trump’s going to be on the ballot. If Trump is on the ballot in 2024, it’s the easiest thing in the world for Democrats because you can always run against the bad guy.” he opined. “But I think the bigger, more dangerous thing, and I’ve been saying this for a while, I’m working hard to never say Republican Party again because it’s not a party. They’re Sinn Fein to the IRA, they’re the PLO to Hamas. They’re a dime-store front for a terrorist movement.”

Now, reasonable-minded Americans may have expected host Nicole Wallace to intervene and bring Johnson back to some realm of rational thought, but she sat there like a toad on a stump and allowed her guest to continue spewing his pure unadulterated hatred of Trump and the Republican Party.

“They didn’t have a policy in 2020 except loyalty to Trump. They just announced in The New York Times today, I think I saw the article where they’re asking their 2024 nominees to not engage in presidential debates. They’re no longer a party. And so nothing surprises me anymore,” Johnson continued. “When it’s essentially a personality cult, when there’s no difference between supporting Trump and being part of — a Britney supporter or the Beyhive or something else like that, what do you expect them to do? Everything is going to change every single five minutes depending on the whims of the de-platformed guy who’s hiding out and blogging in Florida right now.”

The Republican National Committee recently informed the biased Commission on Presidential Debates that it will prohibit the party’s 2024 GOP presidential candidates from participating in CPD debates after requested changes to the process have gone unanswered.

“The RNC has shared our concerns with the CPD in good faith, carefully documenting why the party and its voters have lost faith in your organization, and we have proposed commonsense reforms that would restore trust in the debates process,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel wrote in a letter to the CPD. “Unfortunately, neither the tone nor substance of your latest response inspires confidence that the CPD will meaningfully address the serious issues which the RNC has raised.”

The possibility of fairness being injected into presidential debates clearly rankled Johnson:

In reporting on Johnson’s outrageous remarks, Fox News shared the history of the terrorist groups he named.

“The PLO was designated a terror group by the United States in 1987 and was responsible for multiple terror attacks against Israel, including the murder of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games,” the network reported. “A presidential waiver was given in 1988 to allow the United States to be in contact with the group. Meanwhile, Hamas, the radical militant group that governs the Gaza Strip, is still listed as a foreign terror group by the United States and continues to launch terror attacks against Israel.”
