Democrats again demonstrated a glaring lack of intellect as the ranking member on the House Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade Subcommittee weighed in on “manufacturing.”
U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky made a stunning remark during a hearing on artificial intelligence in manufacturing, sending social media users into a collective facepalm on Wednesday as she appeared to believe the word is sexist.
The 80-year-old Illinois Democrat spoke at the meeting with the exceptionally long title, “AI in Manufacturing: Securing American Leadership in Manufacturing and the Next Generation of Technologies.”
“So we are focusing today on the, um, we’re focusing on AI and we’re focusing on manufacturing and, um, this is all very important,” she began in her opening statement.
“We have a long way to go to make sure that all the manufacturing is brought to the United States of America and I wanted to talk a little bit about AI,” she said.
Later, as Schakowsky was questioning Dr. Elisabeth B. Reynolds, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she brought up getting young people “more engaged in manufacturing.”
“So I asked them, so how many of those students that are signing up and want to do this, how many are women and they said well, um…I know there’s at least 133% or something. It was a low number and you had mentioned trying to engage more women in manufacturing,” the congresswoman said.
“I’m just wondering if – just the name manufacturing sounds like a guy – and how can we get more, certainly there’s a lot of room for women. What are you doing to make that happen?”
For the love of god @janschakowsky @RepSchakowsky the word “Manufacturing” has absolutely nothing to do with why women aren’t working in that field! I sure hope the people of Illinois decide to vote Republican next election because you are a disgrace! https://t.co/LXzZkF5Rm5

The anti-Trump lawmaker, whose husband – Democratic strategist Robert Creamer – was sentenced to five months in jail for bank fraud in 2021, was blasted on X for trying to rewrite the English language.
“Manufacture, manifold, manifest, manor, mantle, manner, mantra, maniac, mantis, manila… is she kidding?” asked radio talk show host Janet Parshall on X.
“Do you want to rewrite the entire English language because a woman might be offended by a word that begins with ‘MAN’? Are we really capable of being that ‘man’ipulated?” she added.
“We just might win the next few elections if they keep this dumb sht up,” wrote another X user.
“Democrats, please keep trotting out these lunatics. We need to show the American people how unhinged the left has become,” said another.
Democrats really REALLY have some stupid people in Congress.

The word “manufacturing” comes from the verb “manufacture”. The word “manufacture” comes from the Latin words manus meaning “hand” and factura meaning “working”
