Rioters breach doors of hotel suspected of housing ICE agents – Minneapolis police SLOW to respond

More a hunting party than a protest, efforts to locate federal agents in Minnesota found the usual suspects violently gaining entry to a hotel without police pushback.

Hours after additional footage had been released, appearing to corroborate that a federal officer had acted in self-defense when discharging his weapon, fatally shooting anti-ICE activist Renee Good, narrative-driven extremists had gathered in downtown Minneapolis.

It was there that so-called protests quickly turned violent before earning an “unlawful assembly” designation as a hotel lobby was breached and trashed in pursuit of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials working to enforce the law with no cops in sight.

Numerous videos from the scene captured the hostility of the anti-ICE protesters as they reportedly journeyed from one hotel to another, including the Hilton Canopy Hotel, seeking out the federal agents with chants of “F*ck ICE” as well as signs with messages like “GET THE F*CK OUT OF MN.” Some were spotted waving flags for Somalia and communism. At one hotel, windows were graffitied with similar messages while hostiles banged on the glass, and some even breached the entry and began trashing the inside.

According to a report from CNN, protesters were endeavoring to make as much noise as they could with drums, whistles and chants while others shone lights at the windows.

“While there was law enforcement in this area a little bit earlier,” CNN reporter Omar Jimenez detailed, “we have not seen any in the last 30 minutes or so to this point as they are now clearly — seems to have breached at least one of the doors here.”

Relaying their receipt of reports that “demonstrations were no longer peaceful and report of damage to property” preempting “Dispersal orders … given prior to arrests,” the Minnesota Department of Public Safety announced some time later that the gathering was deemed an unlawful assembly.

“Our Minnesota State Patrol Mobile Response Team and members of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources are assisting Minneapolis police with the arrest of people for unlawful assembly,” the state agency announced in a statement on X.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, one protester had argued, “I don’t know for sure they are here but we will do whatever it takes to keep Minneapolis safe,” while another said, “Get out of Minneapolis. They are only fanning the flames,” and, “It sucks for the people inside but these corporations need to get the message. These hotels are hosting ICE and we want them out.” [emphasis added]

In the wake of the fatal incident, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) were among those accused of using their positions of authority to incite violence as a response, as they themselves had demanded federal officials get the “f*ck out” of the city and state where they had allowed illegal aliens to flourish.

Giving credit where it was due, Fox News host Laura Ingraham shared one video of the violent protests with the caption, “Congratulations, Gov. Walz & Mayor Frey.”
