Sen. Cotton quips Kamala fixing the border is like OJ ‘promising to find the real killer’

U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton suggested Vice President Kamala Harris is as effective in fixing the border crisis as O.J. DSimpson would have been in trying to “find the real killer.”

The Arkansas Republican delivered his critique while speaking with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, calling out the Democrat presidential nominee for empty promises about fixing the immigration crisis at the southern U.S. border.

“Now Kamala Harris is promising to actually make a difference on the border despite the fact that she’s done nothing about it in the last three and a half years,” Bartiromo said on “Sunday Morning Futures. ”

“Kamala Harris promising to secure our border is like O.J. Simpson promising to find the real killer,” Cotton responded, referring to Simpson who was considered the prime suspect in the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman in 1994. The former NFL player, who died earlier this year, was acquitted in 1995.

“We have a wide-open border because of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden,” Cotton told Bartiromo. “She’s the one that promised in her first campaign for president that she would decriminalize illegal immigration, that she would grant a mass amnesty, that she would give illegal aliens healthcare at taxpayer expense.”

“But look what we have under Joe Biden-Kamala Harris with this wide open border. We have gang warfare breaking out in cities across America. Foreign gangs taking over apartment complexes or hotels or threatening to do so,” he continued.

The senator, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee and Armed Service Committee, called out Harris and the Biden administration for allowing gangs from countries like Venezuela and El Salvador to enter the U.S. illegally. He noted that former President Trump if elected in November, will do “exactly what he did in his first term” relating to migrant crime and will deport “the millions of illegal aliens” that have entered the U.S. under their watch.

“You’ve got Haitians who don’t know how to drive, causing accidents all around the roads of Springfield,” Cotton said, referring to the crisis in the Ohio city that has been “flooded” by 20,000 migrants.

“They’re flooding emergency rooms and community health centers. So, if your kid breaks his arm, good luck trying to find a doctor. The local schools have had to spend more than $400,000 on Haitian Creole translation services alone, money that could have gone for American citizens who wanted new uniforms for the football team or needed a new playground at the elementary, or needed more bus transportation for the band,” he said. “These are all entirely legitimate concerns the people of Springfield have been pleading with their elected leaders in Washington to address.”
