Sharyl Attkisson offers ‘hot take’ on who encouraged Zelenskyy to challenge Trump

The frontlines of the Ukraine war have temporarily shifted to newsrooms and media studios where propagandists are working overtime to spin President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s catastrophic visit to the White House to his benefit.

Instead of at least pretending to express gratitude for America’s ongoing support, the diminutive dictator instead chose to pick a fight with Vice President JD Vance and then argued with President Donald J. Trump in front of the media, an epic disaster that blew up the critical rare earth minerals deal and further alienated the new administration.

What you won’t get from the corrupt media spinmeisters is a “hot take” like the one served up by investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson who suggests that the elfin Ukrainian may have been influenced to bicker with Trump by Europeans who don’t want the war to end, and unfortunately for them, he took their advice only to see it backfire bigly.

“My hot take? Zelenskyy was encouraged by certain European leaders to take on Trump in front of the media,” she wrote, explaining her theory in a lengthy thread. “It may have backfired.”

Attkisson correctly noted that no matter how rude Zelenskyy acted, that the corrupt media and gullible suckers and warmongers would take his side and she was quickly proven right when domestic outlets blamed it all on Trump and top Democrats openly backed the Ukrainian despot.

“Zelenskyy may have been told to take on Trump in front of the media… And the media and the American people would side with zelensky. Partly true… But not for Trump voters,” she said, pointing out that Americans who cast their votes for Trump won’t be fooled, and there are more than 77 million of them.

She also said that showing up for a serious meeting with the leader of the free world in Fetterman-level slob attire isn’t going to cut it with Trump.

“Lastly, if Zelenskyy truly wanted something from Trump, he doesn’t understand Trump at all by not showing up in a suit,” Attkisson concluded.

Even before the Oval Office meeting went to hell in a bucket, Trump mocked the shabby costume that the little “dictator without elections” showed up in.

“None of this drama premeditated. Trump officials were incredulous that some media outlets suggested it might have been. The greeting with Trump and Zelenskyy was warm, with jokes and a guest book signing in the West Wing lobby. They went straight into the Oval and the vibe was positive. White House wanted this deal done today,” wrote CBS News’ Jennifer Jacobs in a post to X, expressing a different opinion than Attkisson.
