Stephen Miller can’t help but admire the ‘horrible art’ of media bias in reporting on Ireland riots

The Washington Post was excoriated by critics after it published a fraudulent tweet Friday about the recent riots in Dublin, Ireland.

As previously reported, riots erupted in Dublin last week after an Algerian immigrant stabbed several children and a woman.

Yet this is what the Post wrote in its tweet: “Online rumors claimed the perpetrator of a stabbing attack was an immigrant. The BBC found that the man was an Irish citizen who had lived in the country for 20 years. Police blamed a ‘lunatic faction driven by a far-right ideology’ for the riot in Dublin.”

Look:

Notice how the Post tried to suggest the stabber isn’t an immigrant by noting that he’s an Irish citizen who’s lived in Ireland for 20 years. But conveniently not mentioned by the Post is that he’s originally from Algeria, thus in fact making him an immigrant.

The tweet links to a piece that doubles down on the lie.

“Rumors spread online that the perpetrator of the attack was an immigrant or had an immigrant background. The BBC, citing unnamed sources, said the man was an Irish citizen who had lived in the country for 20 years,” the piece reads.

Responding to the fraudulent piece, commentator Stephen L. Miller (not to be confused with former Trump administration official Stephen Miller) unloaded in an extensive X rant, ripping the Post into shreds.

The thread begins as follows (*Language warning):

“The most fascinating thing about what’s happening in Ireland is, after searching for hours. I can’t find a single major media outlet, informing me of what actually happened. Who What Why When How. Not a single one. Not one. That’s a problem! See the problem with modern Journalism?” Miller wrote.

“You professional assholes can blame Elon Musk for all of this shit spreading all over Twitter all you want, but you cannot explain the fact that you absolutely refused to report accurately on any news story that goes against your political beliefs. That’s on you. That’s how we got here,” he added.

He continued by arguing that so-called “journalists” have purposefully and maliciously chosen to behave like this — and won’t stop no matter how much they’re called out.

“There are several writers and editors, and also legal departments who see what the Washington Post is doing here and all agree and hit SEND. And yet you are no more factually informed than if you chose not to read it at all That’s who journalists are now. The more famous and recognizable they get, the least informed you are,” he wrote.

“The Washington Post can get ratio’d a thousand times on Twitter and still look at you with contempt as opposed to saying ‘wait are we doing something wrong here?’ That’s who they are. Media and journalists hate the people that they simultaneously beg to read and recognize and support them. They f–king hate you,” Miller explained.

Miller wasn’t the only one to slam the Post. Others did as well.

“It was still an immigrant. From Algeria. Who stabbed children. You all are mind-boggling in your devotion to the narrative, journalism be damned,” one critic wrote.

“You people just can’t help yourselves. Can you? Everything you do and say must be a lie. Mission Statement: Always lie, never tell the truth, no straight reporting ever,” another added.
