“Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak was once again the subject of fans’ wrath on Thursday after a contestant named Alexa made it to the bonus round where she allegedly blew the answer and lost $100,000, although many on social media claimed that she got it right.
Fans claim that Sajak didn’t hear her correctly and she was “robbed” of the prize money.
As Alexa entered the bonus round, she was given the category “What Are You Doing?”
She proceeded to make a wise choice on her letters and co-host Vanna White flipped over blocks on the board making the answer very apparent to most. Alexa was left with “__ST _IN_IN_ IT.”
@WheelofFortune I think you folks just denied this girl $100k …I sure heard “Just Winging It”… pic.twitter.com/km8B2HGXgM

“I don’t know,” Sajak told the contestant. “Will it be enough? ‘Cause that’s all you’re getting.”
Alexa then began shouting answers to the puzzle. Her solutions were phrases such as “Must Winning It” and “Best Winning It,” but that was after her first response, which Sajak heard as “Just Winning It.” The correct answer was “Just Winging It.” The buzzer went off and she officially lost the round.
“You know, the N’s were gone and what we had, you were right there,” Sajak stated as the crowd began to boo very loudly obviously believing she gave the right answer.
It appeared briefly after Alexa gave the first response that he tried to get her to repeat the answer but she started shouting other phrases. In the end, Sajak and the judges ruled that her answer was wrong.
“So close,” Alexa sadly commented after the round was over.
Ok so I re-watched Alexa's bonus round and from what I heard, she clearly said the answer on the first try. The show clearly owes her the $100k now #WheelOfFortune

“I know you were,” Sajak told her, appearing to actually feel sorry for the woman.
The host proceeded to flip the card open to show what she had just lost and then quickly slammed it shut, remarking “Oh, man.”
As the audience groaned commiserating with Alexa, Sajak told them, “Hey, I can’t help it… I feel terrible..” He then showed Alexa what she had lost.
“I feel terrible, but anyway you win $19.2K – still an impressive haul,” he told the contestant.
Social media exploded over the ruling against the contestant with one viewer writing, “I’m absolutely certain that the first thing she said was ‘Just winging It.’ You owe that young woman an apology and $100,000!”
Another demanded to see a replay, “Who has the footage? She got robbed.”
“Hey,” one person tweeted, “@WheelofFortune owes her $100K. She said that first!!”
“I agree that she said the right answer I think they cheated her,” another person charged.
“She said it!!!!” a fan declared. “Looks like Pat started to say ‘Say it again’ but stopped. You can tell she is confused it wasn’t right. And her final expression when it was revealed was ‘Wait I said that.'”
Someone on social media noted that after the first answer, White appeared to nod her head which appears to be the case. She smiled and gave a slight nod in the segment.
Others who saw the clip believe that Sajak got it right and she said “winning” instead of “winging.”
“She said just winning it. Stop lying to yourselves and being mad for no reason. It was fair,” one viewer told those complaining about the outcome.
“She did not say ‘winging’ it is clear she said “winning” because she kept repeating it with each guess. How is this even questionable?” another user asserted.
