White House already working to claw back ‘Pride’ flag ban

The Biden regime is already working to claw back the ban on “Pride” flags at overseas U.S. diplomatic facilities, one more example of why they are not to be trusted on anything.

The ban on non-American flags which includes the rainbow LGBTQ banner as well as flags for Black Lives Matter was one of the few crumbs that were thrown to conservatives in the $1.2 trillion spending bill that House Republicans helped to pass on Friday.

But as has been repeatedly shown, Democrats are not good-faith negotiators and the White House isn’t about to risk alienating such an important part of their base, especially not in an election year.

“President Biden believes it was inappropriate to abuse the process that was essential to keep the government open by including this policy targeting LGBTQI+ Americans,” a White House spokesperson said in a statement.

“While it will have no impact on the ability of members of the LGBTQI+ community to serve openly in our embassies or to celebrate pride, the administration fought against the inclusion of this policy and we will continue to work with members of Congress to find an opportunity to repeal it,” the White House said.

“We successfully defeated 50+ other policies attacking the LGBTQI+ community that Republicans attempted to insert in this legislation. @POTUS is committed to fighting for LGBTQI+ equality at home and abroad,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, an activist lesbian, posted to X on Sunday.

The “Pride” flag wasn’t even completely banned from the embassies, even the bullying Human Rights Campaign acknowledges that.

“The flag provision would continue to allow pride flags to be present in almost all cases at embassies, except flown *over* the exterior of the building. It doesn’t limit a flag on, in front of, inside, at workspaces, etc,” HRC spox Brandon Wolf said in a statement posted to X.

The restrictions on the homosexual flag were one aspect of the gargantuan pork-stuffed bill that Republican Speaker Mike Johnson reportedly used to sell the unpalatable looting of the treasury to his members, a bill that was dumped on them in the middle of the night with little time to read the 1,000+ densely packed pages before voting.

“Johnson also touted as a conservative win a provision he said the deal includes banning the LGBTQ Pride flag from being flown over US embassies,” Bloomberg reported.

Now that “conservative win” will soon be gone too.

“It shows just how low the Republican Party has gotten that they’ve threatened to shut down government services over trying to figure out which flags can be flown in front of which buildings,” Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX) told reporters on Thursday, scoffing at the provision.

“I think it’s laughable, not just to Democratic voters but to Republican voters,” said Casar, the progressive caucus whip.

“That’s the latest manifestation of the homophobia Republican party,” Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) told the Daily Mail, labeling his GOP colleagues as anti-gay bigots.
