Fox News host Jesse Watters bluntly accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg of knowingly setting up former President Trump and putting his life in danger by publicly announcing specific court dates that potentially make him a target for unhinged leftists.

Trump was arraigned in a Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday with hundreds of protesters outside, both for and against him. It was utter chaos and at times turned towards violence.
He was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records that claim he paid three hush money payments to cover up affairs with two women. The charges assert that he paid a doorman as well as the women for their silence. All of which the former president denies and none of which rise to the level of a felony. It is a purely political dog and pony show meant to keep Trump from running for the presidency in 2024. Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges.
According to The Wrap: “In his 16-page indictment prosecutors state Trump ‘orchestrated a scheme with others to influence the 2016 presidential election by identifying and purchasing negative information about him to suppress its publication and benefit the Defendant’s electoral prospects.’ As part of his plot, prosecutors say Trump had his allies make three payments — $30,000 to a former Trump doorman, $150,000 to a former Playboy modern and $130,000 to Daniels — to cover up his alleged messy behavior.”
Watters slammed the charges against Trump on Tuesday during “The Five” and questioned the tremendous amounts of resources being spent on nailing Trump.
Alvin Bragg is trying to end fair & free elections. This a sham of a case that he doesn’t even understand. So now Republicans have to turn the tables & start prosecuting Democrats. They don’t have to trump up the charges though, Democrats’ crimes are clear. The Left started this. pic.twitter.com/9keBFsmMA4

“He’s spending, how many millions of dollars on this circus?” Watters incredulously asked concerning Bragg’s political circus. “He’s shutting down the FDR Drive. He’s hiring how many police officers? How much manpower is going into the D.A.’s office on this case alone? Meanwhile, you’ve got a crime wave out here and he has the nerve to come out and say he doesn’t want to normalize crime. Come on, man!”
Watters pointed out that a great deal of the case against Trump rests on the testimony of Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, who has turned against him, joining leftists in trying to take him down. Many see him as a corrupt, opportunistic, serial liar. He went to prison for pleading guilty to campaign finance violations, tax evasion, and perjury.
The Fox News host noted that porn star Stormy Daniels owes Trump legal fees from a failed defamation lawsuit against him brought by her former attorney Michael Avenatti. He is now disbarred and in federal prison as well.
“So, this is the crux of the case that you’re building,” he commented.
.@dbongino: 1% of me thought Alvin Bragg couldn’t be this dumb but I read the indictment & it was even worse than we thought. They made this whole thing up. If you blacked out Trump’s name, any legal professional would read it & say ‘What kind of a clown joker wrote this thing?’ pic.twitter.com/93O0XzdeiV

Watters went on to assert that prosecuting Trump in this public fashion is putting the former president’s life at risk.
“And I’ve got to tell you. You’re putting Donald Trump’s life in danger. You’re setting him up and advertising to the entire world, ‘The former president of the United States, the Republican nominee for the presidency, is gonna be at this location, at this time, on this date,'” Watters remarked.
“And you’ve got towers, and you’ve got windows. You think that’s good for this country? To put a man like that in a certain location on Dec. 4? And then, what if it goes to trial? He has to be there every day. You think the Secret Service wants that? That is dangerous. And he is playing a dangerous game,” he said leveling charges against Bragg for knowingly putting Trump in the spotlight and exposing him to an unknown number of unhinged hatemongers who would love to take him out.
Conservatives rightly see the whole sordid affair as a political witch hunt. The case is so weak that even leftist experts feel it should be dropped. But it’s in actuality not about imprisoning Trump as much as it is about discrediting him in the eyes of voters.
Fox News Chief Political Analyst Brit Hume ripped into the whole spectacle. He summarized how this is infuriating Americans as they face a long list of potentially catastrophic circumstances that are plaguing the nation under President Biden.

“Put yourself in the position of an American citizen watching this – someone not dedicated to Trump, nor a Trump hater; worried about the world; worried about Russia and China becoming more united; worried about the stalemate in Ukraine; worried about inflation and the possibility of recession in this country; worried about the lawlessness at the border and the lawlessness on our streets,” he stated.
“And he looks at this and says, well, we’re gonna have an election in a couple years. Who we gonna get? Well, Joe Biden is apparently gonna run again. He’s the person under whose watch these circumstances I’ve just described arose. He’s also gonna be what – 82 years old when election day rolls around? Many people think he’s too old, that he’s senescent, if not utterly senile,” Hume pointed out.
“And on the other hand, the prospect seems to be clear now that we’ll have Donald Trump again, a man who today stands indicted and arraigned in a district, in a court in New York City on charges that many legal experts think are flimsy and should be thrown out. It is not a moment that I think most people will find inspiring,” he concluded.
