Calif. sheriff opens hate crime probe after group of men ‘storm’ Drag Queen Story Hour

The state of American culture today as influenced by progressive left ideology is such that drag queens dominate the news cycle… and not necessarily as one might expect.

A group of men who disrupted a “Drag Queen Story Hour” for children find themselves the subjects of a hate crime investigation after crashing the session being held at a public library in San Lorenzo, Calif., which is just south of Oakland.

According to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, an “LGBTQ community member was hosting a reading event at the library called, ‘Drag Queen Story Hour,’” when alleged members of the Proud Boys showed up and began “acting extremely aggressive with a threatening violent demeanor.”

“A group of 5 men entered the library and disrupted the reading event. The men were described as members of the Proud Boys organization, known to be a right wing hate group with anti-LGBTQ affiliations,” ACSO spokesman Lt. Ray Kelly wrote in a Facebook post.

“The men began to shout homophobic and transphobic slurs at the event organizer,” Kelly said in a press release. “The men were described as extremely aggressive with a threatening violent demeanor causing people to fear for their safety.”

He further stated that deputies responded to the scene and “were able to de-escalate the situation,” adding that an “active hate crime investigation is underway as is an investigation into the annoying and harassing of children.”

To clarify, an investigation of those who interrupted the session, not an investigation into drag queens interacting with small children.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles:

Kelly further wrote that the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office “will dedicate all resources to ensure the safety of members of our LGBTQ community.”

“We will make sure any future events at the library are safe against hate speech and threats of violence. As we celebrate Pride Month, we will be swift in our response to any incidents where there are threats to harm members of this community,” Kelly wrote.

The drag queen conducting the reading session to small children, Panda Dulce, reportedly a former teacher, talks about not feeling safe being called a “pedophile” and a “groomer” below:

Not to worry though, U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., who has time on his hands now that he’s no longer involved with a Chinese spy, is on the case.

“Today while on a plane back to Washington, DC, I learned about an attack in our community by members of the Proud Boys. We must reject this hate and extremism whenever it shows itself, which is why I will be returning home this Thursday to meet with law enforcement and the community,” he tweeted. “There is no place for this hate in the East Bay, and we all need to speak up with one voice in saying so.”

In December, former Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Brett Blomme was sentenced to nine years in prison for distributing child pornography. Blomme was the former president and CEO of Cream City Foundation, an LGBTQ+ organization that was “a fiscal sponsor” for Drag Queen Story Hour, according to a Reuters fact-check article.
