Patriots debut ‘Storm Blue’ uniforms with a hidden message, drawing mixed reviews

The New England Patriots debuted their “Nor’easter” uniforms during a Thursday Night Football match-up with the New York Jets, and the new threads were as popular with some fans as was the AFC team’s winning performance on the field.

The Patriots’ new uniforms are part of the NFL’s “Rivalries” program, featuring “Storm Blue” color jerseys with white helmets and pants.

There is also a hidden feature fans couldn’t see with the naked eye, according to Fox News. The words “We Are All Patriots” were stitched into the collar in white lettering on a red fabric background.

“At the heart of the look is a deep Storm Blue base – rugged, weathered, and worn in, like the coastline after a gale,” said an infographic on the Patriots’ website. “The color reflects both the unforgiving power of the nor’easters and the perseverance of the people who face them head-on.”

“The Nor’easter uniform,” the team posted on X.

Even their NBA cousins, the Boston Celtics, were impressed, posting: “Heard a storm is coming.”

Former NFL standout defensive end JJ Watts liked the new threads, calling them “phenomenal.”

But that prompted some criticism from fans accustomed to New England’s deep blue uniforms, as seen here:
